Contact from Florida.https://members.camfc.co.uk/topic/423-contact-from-florida/There I was, the other night, gluing balsa bits together, when the 'phone rang.

It was Peter from Florida, there's a suprise!

Apparently, he had been onto the Camfc website to view SMAS, to see how the show had gone.

He was dismayed when he read the statement, about the show having been cancelled, and offered his best wishes to the Club, accordingly.

Peter asked me what had happened, and ,I explained, that I could not say much more than the official position, but I think he got the picture.

He and Janet are well, at present, but they are concerned about the rising cost of health care in the US, as they are not getting any younger.

Their son, Paul, has a new wife, a lovely lady, who shares Pauls passion for motorbikes. She keeps hers in the kitchen, to make it difficult to steal!

A hint of coming back home? Only time will tell.

He sends their best wishes to all, and he hung up, and I went back to gluing my Balsa.

That is all,

Oily

News from Floridahttps://members.camfc.co.uk/topic/15-news-from-florida/I've just had an email from ex-CAMFC member Peter Lawrence who de-camped with his entire family to Florida a few years ago.

Hopefully he'll become a regular in this section bringing us news of life and RC in the US.

The most shocking news is that some crazy woman has made an honest woman of his son Paul  Good luck to them both, I hope they'll be very happy.

I've attached a few pictures, given that spring has officially started and it's still -3 this morning in the UK, they show how tough life in the US seems to be.

News from down underhttps://members.camfc.co.uk/topic/16-news-from-down-under/I've been in touch with John London and despite settling down and giving up the mobile life, he hasn't got back into flying again and says he's not sure he will

Can't believe that myself and I hope he does find the inspiration to pick it up again. I hope it wasn't the trauma of all those years teaching me and others that contributed to him hanging up the TX

I've told to keep an eye on the forum and to put up a post from time to time, I hope he stays in touch.
