Her Klunk 0
Gents My latest project from scratch. EuroFighter Typhoon Wing Span +-17" 2 GWS EDF 40 fans and 12 mm motors Hyperion 5800 kv 4 3.5g servos elevons, rudder, canard 3S1P 800 onngmax 20c lipo 2.4 Mhz Rx 5 chnl Jeti Depron, EPP and balsa. Started from this three view drawing of the plane. Used this to set out a Cad drawing. After mmuch designing started the build with the wing and formers. The wing is 2 mm Epp with Balsa and ply ribs and spar. 4 ribs. The wing is semi profile and the EPP is the covering and outer skin of the wing. Will Fg the wing using cloth and wood glu. Light and strong. The fuselage will be from 6 mm depron after a bit of trial an error this works the best as can sand nice round edges. All stuck with UHU glu. Formers are mix of Balsa and depron. Next version all depron. I have attached a few pics of the build so far. Eurofighter_ref.pdf
Her Klunk 0
Next I use four strips of 6 mm depron shaped to fit the fuse sides, glued in place. Fitted the internal ducting. rear ducting paper tube covered with selotape for strength. Fitted top of fuse in sections , but next time will be a single piece of 6 mm depron. Fitted bottom duct and fuse to wing use 6 mm long triangle shaped strips, topped with 2 mm Epp. Once dry sanded to shap to get rid of suqayre edges and make it look more like the real plane. A few pics so far. All thats left to do as servos fitted in wing when wing built. Not great for easy acess but can cut epp if needs be for access. Secured with double sided tape. Need to level Cananrd rod, Fit Dperon Canard, and ply control rod with epoxy (before canard attached). Fit canard servo operate from flap switch. Need to build depron canopy and hatch area. Complete depron nose shape and sand. Need to shape rear nozzels, and fit rear cones to ducts to increase eflux speed by 25 to 35%. Need to FG bottom of wing and fuse, then top to get a nice clean LE. Then need to coat whole plane in a coat of WBPU to seal before painting after all sanding and filling done. The decide on coulour scheme and paint. Then decals. The AUW should be about 8 ounces with 12 ounces of thrust. Top speed about 70 mph. With a bit of luck will test fly next sunday even if not painted. André
