Gentlemen,

 

Further to Bravedans post elsewhere, here is further information about Biggin Hill Heritage Hangers operations for Rememberance Sunday Morning.

 

Please be on the alert if at Fickleshole field tomorrow morning, for Squadron of WW2 aircraft passing low overhead!

 

Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar LtdBHHH - Remembrance Day Flypast

WHAT & WHEN:

 

The largest formation of warbirds to be seen in Kent for many years will pay a Remembrance Day tribute to the fallen on Sunday November 10, 2013. The formation will consist of five Spitfires of various marks, a Hurricane, a Harvard trainer and an American Piper Cub.

 

After forming up a short distance from Biggin Hill Airport, the aircraft will return to overfly St. Georges Chapel on the airport at two minutes after eleven before turning to overfly the chalk cross set in the hills above Shoreham Village near Sevenoaks eight minutes later. The public can view the flypast at both locations

After this run they circled the valley and came over our heads again now VERY LOW before banking to port over the treeline back to BH.

 

That is the nearest I have ever been to a warbird in flight, let alone four of them. The ground shook!

Yes! that is them, the same formation over Fickleshole just after the completion of 2 minutes silence, fantastic.
