Pilot Ben 28
Hi All, Anyone know the centre of graivity or has a manual that they could read for the chriss foss uno wot 4 channel artf as I have acquired a 2nd hand version and I need to balance it.... Thanks B
Lofty 5
The C of G position is given as 5" to 5 and 3/8" from the leading edge. "The C/G is most likely around the 30% area of the wing" Control throws are ailerons - 1/4" - 3/8" up and down, Elevator 3/16" - 3/8" up and down and rudder 1/4" -1" left and right. "Throws are down to you in the end, you may want lower or higher"
Club Members Peter Royall 47 Posted August 30, 2016 Club Members Share Posted August 30, 2016 One third wing chord at the wing centre point from the leading edge would be a good place to start. Maybe a centimeter forward of that to be on the safe side. These models tend to "float on" when landing, just so you are aware Regards, Oily
Lofty 5
hmm someone else is saying :- The balance point range is 3 to 3 3/8 inches back from the leadingedge, with the usual advice given to start at the forward point for initial flights & move it back for a more lively performance. So I would do the 1/3 test.......
Pilot Ben 28
Ok I'll also give foss a ring B
Pilot Ben 28
All places say about 5" and one even says it flew on just forward of 5" http://www.hamiltonmodelflyingclub.co.uk/myBB/printthread.php?tid=
funflyjames 19
Hi Ben, Is that the Wot Trainer that was for sale on the forum? If it is, it's not a Uno Wot, but a Ripmax ARTF Wot Trainer and they are not the same model at all. I have a friend with a Wot Trainer, so will ask if he still has the instructions. James. funflyjames 19
89mm back from the leading edge at the root of the wing for the CofG. For initial flights the manual suggests the following throws: Elevator 10mm each way Rudder 25mm each way aileron 8mm each way, but as you're now experienced, I'd increase this a bit! Hope that helps, James.
Pilot Ben 28
ah thank you James . Yes it is the wot trainer... I will try dual rates with high being maximum throws. A bit late now as I have written uno wot on the side but oh well! Maiden should be this sunday? B
