Apparently I'm allowed just three images per post so here are the ones missed from the last post.

Now I've dried the front room out following a cistern failure I think it time for an update on the Pup. Here's a few pics of work done over the last three days.
-
An update on the panel. The fuel tank pressurising pump and the ignition switch have been started. I've replaced the turned aluminium instruments housings with plastic card items.

Another day, another subject, another forty or so to go. The results of today's labours! Some brass, some steel. All a pain in the shed!

Now I have a lathe I can make a start on the instruments!

Thanks Darren, I quite understand but what is the standard attachment method? Gary told me that the Photbucket way was the way to go! No hurry. Regards, Don

Hi Fellers! Just back from a short holiday in France and glad to get back to the workshop and the Pup. Here are some shots of the front end showing the cartridge link shute from the Lewis M/G. This is from block balsa clad with litho plate, rubbed down on the finest wet & dry I could find then buffed a little with Solvol Autosol. I've completed and fixed the two carb air intake tubes. They're from brass tube cleaned thoroughly then tinned with cored solder , a blowlamp then quickly wired with the old moleskin pad. This buffs up nicely with a yellow duster. That's all for n

The advantage I find the Pumped version has is that when you cannot get to the engine easily it self-primes on initial start-up. That is:- Fill the tank - switch radio on - close throttle to tick over position. NO GLOW YET - turn the prop over about ten rotations - set throttle - apply glow and it will start without having to choke the thing. Secondly I find that the low tick over is as steady as can be. I do not use tank pressure ever and run my engines on the rich side. Let me know what happens!

Thanks for that, John. The SE5A's from Duncan H's drawings so comes out at what he terms "Near 1/4 Scale" Why on earth not to full 1/4? It must have something to do with the production of his kit for the A/C. Strip lengths and so forth. As for flying at Roundshaw - can't see why not. Remind me later! It will have to be after I've flown it at Top Gun in July tho'. Don't want to break it before then! Thanks again.

Posted: Mon Feb 27, 2006 2:45 pm Post subject: The SE5A from Duncan Hutsons drawings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Having had some questions regarding the SE5A I thought to start a new thread for it. First of all a picture by Darren taken at last year's Bickley Scale meeting. where it won "Best in Scale" and another by Darren which was published in RCMW magazine I scratch built the model from Hutson drawings and used his rib kit together with parts of his glass fibre decking. All of the front end is knocke

thaz gust fyne garrrie - luuk forwerd twoitt ************************************* Hi Andre. I cocked up by assuming you meant to be kind about my SE5A when, in fact, you posted on my Pup thread! Sorry about that! The Pup has a few more weeks to go before it's maiden, but I'll keep you all posted. Now I know your name I'll post details of the SE5A on the SE5A thread

I'll post more details for you when I know your name. That way it's more personal! I'll detail the power train, radio & linkages, set-up and flight characteristics together with the heart-rate readings when flying in competion. Regards, Don Coe (By the way, admin, what are our facilities for spell checking? On other portals they have on-the-fly checking). DC
