Note a great pic but you can see how i mounted the engine upside down and the pipe just fits making the front end look like a bit shark like.

I have just completed the following Top Gun kit. I have put a Weston 50 in the front with and 8*10 prop and a mini pipe. Cant wait to see her go zoooooom. Will post my pics soon in the mean time here is a kit pic.

Yep she will be a puller alright using MVVS 40 and will cowl tuned pipe like my magnum. As for flat spins we shall see, toying with idea of two servos on rudders then can have an air break effect as they can go into two channels. and fast is good.......vrooooooom

I modified my old MagnumR after the last crash and found the RX to be faulty. Here are a few RCCad drawings of the new Delta. It should be fast, just need to do some calculations to ensure the design is not nose heavy with engine in the front, but set back 3 to 4 inches as the wings are swept back bringing the c of g back as well. Span 36" Root Chord 20" Tip Chord 6" sweep 20" Area 3.33ft2 AUW +- 36 to 40 ounces oz/ft2 11 to 14 With this design the tuned pipe will extend to the rear edge of the wing thus no mess or goo all over my nice plane. Colour scheme TBA and conside

I will be up at the field on saturday and sunday after two....hoping for a good test flight...

I now have a spitfire with a missing retract. So i too have some rebuild to do. As for energy I build at night to forget the stress and agro of work.

Colour scheme Red fuse and wings. Wing tips Yellow on top with black edges and yellow cowl.

I am currently building a new plane which will be a basic pylon racer of the Q500 class. Here are the plans to date. The fuse is balsa and ply formers and Ply longerons. Light and strong. 3/16 sides and 1/8 top and bottom. The wing will be foam core 52" span by 9 5/8 chord, about 500 square inches. The wing is semi symmetrical, and the chord is 1 1/8 at the thickest section. Ailerons will be almost full length and the fuse will have a traditional tail section and not a v-tail. I will use 5 servos, might use flaperons or 4 servos and save some weight. Pic to follow.

Keep up the good work be nice to see it at the field.

My new Ulitmate .46 arrived on Friday. All looks good and no major issues on first inspection. Have started the build and mounted the stabilisers and main wings. I have to say the build looks very good and so does the finish. Its all navy blue with a yellow stripe on the fuse and top wing. So it leaves you free to finish off the colour scheme in the classic ultimate guise or do what you want. I have mounted the Satio 72 which is a bit bigger than suggested, but having read up there are guys with 90's in there planes. But as its rated for a 46 2st I recon a 72 will do just fine wit

Had a test flight on Sunday between showers and spitfire flew well. I reduced the down thrust in the engine to help reduce the nose over on take off and it helped. On take off now the plane just needs a gentle shove forward and off it went. Also have tweeked the under cart slightly and now it is behaving itself although it still has a reluctant right wheel on deploying retracts as it still sticks and requires a little coaxing to deploy fully.
-
Well Stephen just bring them to the field I am sure you will find a willing volunteer to fly them....

No just meant Jim has lots of experience with twin engine planes.
-
Well done beat me to the twin. Should speak to Jim he will be able to help with engine thrust lines and gyro's etc.

My new delta is nearly complete, Just have to finish elevons and vertical stabs and then cover the model. Will but flying at the field this weekend along with my own design dolly to resolve the hand launch issue.

This is a pic of my 120 size YT Spitfire. Had two great flights on Friday and two nose over landings. But hey nay landing is a good landing. Retracts still a problem but a loop or side to side waggle of the wings locks them down. This plane looks great in the air and sounds great with the Saito 120.

Work on new delta to date. You can see the construction is fairly basic. Carbon rods and balsa. Biggest problem is cutting and pasting plan to balsa and then cutting ribs out by hand. Would love my own CNC machine.

After my last delta met a tree after a 300 ft dive with a slow roll to the right. I have re-designed the WIYW delta to accept the MVVS Q500 engine and turn a 8*10 prop with a tuned pipe. Will post pics as the build progresses. Maybe with some luck might have it built by Sunday but we shall see. Well there is always Monday as no flying on bank holiday. I have upgrade the servos this time to HS 645MG 107 ounce, himm a bit OTT but what the heck with a possible top speed to 200 mph I decide to play it very safe. The new MVVS Q500 looks great and is rated for 23000 rpm...nice th

Try SMC website. I have the laarge hot wire cutter that works well but it takes some practice. The small hand held unit might be the right one for you. http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/sh ... sp?id=5055 André

Darren No bungee and I can quite understand after the last experience you had. Andre Delta flew well needs C of G moved back a 1/2 to 1" and a bigger tail fin as I managed to stall the delta which did a death spiral to the ground which was almost a flat spin. Will fit a rudder as well. Making the model so light paid huge dividends as it came to ground without much incident. The only other problem is it tends to want to flip over on landing.
