Sopwith Pup from Mick Reeves drawings

Recommended Posts

A big THANK YOU to those who braved the snow last night to hear me rabbit on about the Pup.

When I can master the image posting procedure I'll keep you up to date on the build.

Perhaps Moderator Jimbo would phone me to run through the actions?

Kind regards to all.

Don Coe.

I'll post more details for you when I know your name. That way it's more personal! :)

I'll detail the power train, radio & linkages, set-up and flight characteristics together with the heart-rate readings when flying in competion.

Regards,

Don Coe

(By the way, admin, what are our facilities for spell checking? On other portals they have on-the-fly checking).

Hi Andre. I cocked up by assuming you meant to be kind about my SE5A when, in fact, you posted on my Pup thread! Sorry about that!

The Pup has a few more weeks to go before it's maiden, but I'll keep you all posted. Now I know your name I'll post details of the SE5A on the SE5A thread

Hi Fellers!

Just back from a short holiday in France and glad to get back to the workshop and the Pup.

Here are some shots of the front end showing the cartridge link shute from the Lewis M/G. This is from block balsa clad with litho plate, rubbed down on the finest wet & dry I could find then buffed a little with Solvol Autosol.

I've completed and fixed the two carb air intake tubes. They're from brass tube cleaned thoroughly then tinned with cored solder , a blowlamp then quickly wired with the old moleskin pad. This buffs up nicely with a yellow duster.

That's all for now. I await delivery from the foundry of the bronze cast air intake ducts then I detail the dummy Le Rhone a little.

See yer.

Don (PS The spell checker wants to change shute to shite!! - It should have been CHUTE anyway  )

it worked that time, Darren! An update on progress of the Le Rhone. Rockers and trunnions added together with the spark plugs. The castings for the air intake ducts turned up today from the foundry. Will post pics after a little work on them.

For those who didn't get a look at the cast intakes ducts for the Le Rhone last night at the Portcullis Club - here's one I've polished

Darren - This is the result of my trying to upload from PhotoBucket!

Don,

Don't know why that isn't working but I'm not going to have any time to look into it over the next couple of weeks, you'll just have to use the standard attachment method instead.

When you make a post, at the bottom of the form there is an 'add an attachment' section, browse for your file, add a comment and click the add attachment button.

You can add as many as you like but the images must be no bigger than 640x480.

Perhaps Gary can shed some light on the photobucket issue.
