    Pangster's day out

Hmm as always about 1 hour after we got back, the wind & rain stopped and turned out nice........ Looks like today weather maybe the only good day for along time! At the end of the week I think, the air strip will be like this :-

    Pangster's day out

Where was lots of sand up by the peg number holder thing, that Joe put there, but don't think its there anymore! Maybe to may have made so many holes now that its all been used up! Or the NewAddington lot, removed it to try and sell it..........

    Pangster's day out

Wind, rain, mist and you name it! Was the weather to day & all weeks. So there is only one plane for the sky's when its like that......Pangster time! Only 2 pilots had the ball to fly today, one a foolish rookie and the other a nutter!. The rookie learned alot of stuff to-day and as well is now going to take off his training wheels " orange bendy prop " for the next flight. Also after the Rookie had a go on the Nutter's Pangster, and scairing myself half to death when doing a simple ail. row, that was like 10x faster & 10X more row's done than I could do with my one in 1 ro
  6. The Edge 540T looks like a plane I would go for, when I am ready for it.......maybe in 10+ years, I hear you all saying ! I was thinking about getting one of them electric slow-fly 3D plane, but having seen and flown in the weather we get / been getting at the field, a bigger glow fuel 3D plane is the way to go. LOL Rain, wind, thunder & lightening didn't sime to do much to the Edge 540T when I last saw it or was it just your flying skill! I think this will be my next fun fly plane, but first I've got to get a Mustang and fly under Jimbo, on one of his low fly-bys
  7. Well not done much building over the last few days! Been having fun with other's and there Pangster at the field. The weather has been rain & wind then Sun and no wind than back to rain & wind + some thunder and lightening and so on. In the bracks of Sun shine we were up . As other have said its the weather for the Pangster, so that's what we have been flying.........."Pangster day out" Anyway Step :- 13 Made a servo tray, all I now have to do is add some supports and then glue in-place. LOL , as you can see from all the trays in the back ground, it touch me a
  8. The 3 mains thing to do are :- Install fuss servos & little things to do with them, Solar cover and then put control surfaces on. And then run engine in. Your going to need Nuclear black out shades x 10!!!! Well the wing color not to bright, but the control surface color is bright as hell! When I first thought about getting a Panic after people said how good they were, I thought I would paint it military color scheme "WW 2 spit / mustang type".....lol with D-Day invasion strips Well my next one, and there will be a next one, I will most likely do that color scheme.
  9. Yes will be doing that, just last night around 3am I gave up........ Couldn't go on any more
  10. Step 12 : Installed the wing servos the best I could......OMG all I can say is it looks like Jack the Ripper has had his way here ...... The main problem was, as I said before in above posts. I should have placed servos & etc. in before I did anything to the wing. The second big 2 problem where the size of the servos them self & bl00dly servo holders. "Mosty the servo holders" They are just abit to big for the wing, there depth is very close to the depth of the wing "trailing edge part". So I had to glue veneer sheets on the opposite side, because I could see light coming th
  11. Step 11.2,3,4,5,6,7 :- Placed & screwed landing gear, Drilled and placed rubber engine mountings, Drilling holes for rods to hold lower wing in place, Reinforced lower wing rods with 2cm by 2cm blocks of Ply "inside", Drilled & sanded out circus for the head of the fuel tank. Cut slot close to the back end of fuselage for tail to slot into. Photo below showing most of them steps above :- Below : Ready to fly!..........Maybe not :- Update Would have been better to have placed the rubber engine mounts more offset to the right, so when the engine is

Doh! I went to JP Distribution homepage, but can't find a .PDF of the manual there...... also forgot about Avicraft site , was Late at night and so my minded wasn't working so good. Anyway I will leave them the photo up, maybe somebody else will one day need them! If you upload them here by attaching them "bottom of screen", you can only go up to 640x480, which is small, but still looks ok. If you don't take you photos in 640 X 480 or under Resolution, then you will need a re-sizer software, or most people just use Window's Paint for re-sizeing. I use Image-shack for my pho

When you buy it bane new in a box, then you do get a manual....Well I wouldn't call it a manual as it is only 8 pages small. Sorry my Scanner is at my Dads house or I would have scanned it for you. The best I can do it take photo of it!......... Front Page :- Page 1 :- Page 2 :- Page 3 :- Page 4:- Page 5 :- Page 6 :- Back Page :- Edit :- Just click on links for the photos to load up :-
  14. There are lots of ways of setting up the landing gear, but this is how I am doing it :- Step 11 :- Was told that you don't need to have the Bulkhead / firewall installed with the fiberglass fuselage Panic, but I thought I would put it in anyway for more straight as I was going to glue my own homemade landing gear in-er support. Well I glued it ones with Epoxy and it then fell out after 30Min's of drying time, so I re-glued it again.......Then when I was drilling the hole for the engine mounting it also fell off again lol. Well then I thought maybe that's why they say you don't need i
  15. Step 7 :- Glued with Epoxy the 4 trailing edge onto the trailing edge of both wings. Each of them were about 1 inch to big for the for each wing part, so had to cut of the end bit and sand down later. Also as this is not the top wing joint flap Panic, I could have cut the trailing edge pieces to the same size as the control surfers. But I decided to have them run the whole way along the trailing edge on both top & bottom wing. "This should also at more strength to the wing, where the rubber bands go" Below :- "Top Wing" Whole wing trailing edge done, "Bottom Wing" Gluing beaning down.
  16. "Update" It is also best to place the servos in before you do the Cap strips also, but this can be hard if you don't know where you want them to go. Or this is your first Panic build or have been told to place them later on in the building. If I was going to do this part and the part above again, I would mark out the veneer center sheets & Cap strips with a felt-tip pen like I did before gluing them in place. Then I would cut out where I wanted them to be & then places the servos, servos wires, servos housing where I wanted them. Step 4 :- Marked out on the top and bottom of
  17. Jimbo was saying that to last week. Most likely will set it up like a trainer at first.....Don't want it to go from Build to Boom on its first flight. Well I don't think you could miss it at the field, due to the very sickly bright colors you could see 10 miles away .
  18. Step 1 : Glued the 2 top wing holders into place, with Epoxy :- Step 2 : Glued with Epoxy the 4 wings parts together, to make the top & bottom wings :- Step 3 : Glued the 9cm By 14cm veneer center sheets with Epoxy, on the top side & bottom side of both wings "Update" As I thought and also talk with others it is best to put the servos in the lower wing before you glue veneer center sheets in place. At the time of doing this part I didn't know how / where I was going to put the servos in, so that is why I did this first. I then cut the over hang off of th
  19. Here is a site I am using to help me build the Panic, but as you can see its for the full wooden one. So only a pointer of what to do in some of the photos. Project Panic :- http://www.plainslane.fsnet.co.uk/project%20panic.htm Some Photo's :- http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=Avicraft%20Panic&btnG=Google+Search&sa=N&tab=wi Edit :- Also the Panic I have is not the one which has the 2 top wing flaps joined together.
  20. Going to take my time building this. Well there not much building to be done anyway In this photo you can see everything you need to build and fly this plane :- As you can see its not the old full wooden body Panic, its the fiberglass one. There isn't much of a manual, so I will build it from what they said to do at Avicraft / other people have said. I have been told that you don't get a good manual as there are lots of way of doing the setup / things. Also the manual is for the wooden body plane, so much of it can be passed over! There are also 3 more info sheets :

    Which plane next

Well afew weeks ago, I would have said go with the Su-31 with out thinking about it. Just because that me! But now thing have charged / are charging after seeing Jimbo Hanger 9 P51. The P51 is starting to rub off on me, or maybe its just the way Jimbo flys it Having said that I would say this also, but this is only my point of view.... P-51 :- Would look better than the Su31 if you did more realistic type moves, Su-31 :- Would look better than the P51 if you did more 3-D flying / display team show flying. "Hope you can understand, what I am trying to get that" Edit

    JBA ENGINES

If they come in Purple colour instend of blue, we know Jimbo would buy one right away! Not much of a recommendation, but this better than nothing.
  23. o yes, that's the one....
  24. A stab in the dark here....... :- Afew days ago I saw a half made Mirus on EBay, in the photo of the Mirus there was a manual / info sheets or something...... So if its still on EBay you could ask the seller Edit :- Stabbing in the dark around EBay, will post if i find it. Edit 2 :- Its not on EBay anymore, should have said something about it before when I first saw it, I think just forgot about it sorry Nutzs.
  25. I'm learning alot from just watching / listening to Jimbo and his "pit stop" sessions . I hope Jimbo doesn't start to charge money for his time soon
