I settled on the vinyl for the same reason Dave. The fit is a bit crap, but the only other option was from a company in Canada, and their designs made my eyes crazy! Hydrodipping is interesting, and would create a much better finish, but it's a bit too much hassle IMO. By mainstream I was sort of referring to the usual Spektrum, Futaba and Hitec stuff, although as you say Frsky is now a huge company, but mainly in the drone world.

Just finished watching a great documentary about the cold war and Britain's Jet age, and I thought some of you might be interested. AFAIK, it airs every night on BBC 2 from 9 until 10. Only thing to be aware of with the spray aerosol paints, is that depending on the make/type/etc, they are quite prone to splitting. This isn't a problem once on the model, however when manipulating the cowling around the engine (cylinder head, carb, muffler, etc) the cowling will flex slightly but the pain won't. Best solution really is to just take it slow, as "touching up" tends to leave slightly different shade marks and lines on the cowling. Lovely bit of work Mike; You sure have been busy! Once confident with the larger "Stik" you should be able to use it at Fickleshole, I would have thought. It's very similar to a Wot 4, and you know how well those things slow up! Anyway, I'm off to go and try get some models airworthy for tomorrow. Hope to see you somewhere at some point, B

This trespassing really isn't good. Problem is, from my experience shooting on my farm permissions, if the police are called all they will do is say that it is a civil dispute/problem and that they won't get involved. Time to get the barbed wire and landmines out! Although, on the subject, there are numerous sections behind the airsoft setup to the right of the oak tree that contain barbed wire. Perhaps the gap(s) could be blocked by the installation of some more?

Agreed. I read somewhere (official) that the name Tempest had been chosen as the main backers wanted to "resurrect" the original name. It also said that they thought that it would get a better response from the public. Quite honestly it is a huge undertaking, and if we're going to design one of the first 6th gen fighters, I'm not entirely sure that an untested and rejected 90's design is the best place to start. The level of detail on the engine and prop assembly really is something else! I can honestly say Don that your modelling abilities seem limitless, and not to mention superb! I think the detailing and weathering on the rest of the model gives it a sublime finish; especially the front of the fuselage and landing gear!

You can be sure of the fact that it will morph into a drone unless it’s eaten by a crow or fox upon landing!

Me being a bit slow; this won’t have any effect on us at all, since we are still operating in Biggin Hills airspace?

Just make sure to secure the aerials again! You’ll have seen the yellowish glue that holds them down from the factory, but I find a drop of hot glue works a treat too... B

Cheers Dave. Hmmm well, I do have some spare aerials, so I guess I'll stick them on instead.... The model is a nice Spitfire, and whilst it isn't small, there is a lot of wiring so I'd rather a super clean setup. Thanks very much @Bravedan :D
