Yeah, I have an SC in that trainer I bought a year ago and it usually runs ok. I prefer the OS in my cougar but it is much more expensive, almost £139 for a 35!!! ASP is probably my most used make as they are very cheap and to be fair if they are set up properly they run quite well. Rod had an ENYA in something which ran very well but I recall him saying a cost a bit? With a 52 though you may find it eats fuel and makes the plane fly to fast, or you fly with 1/5 throttle which defeats the 52 object!!! A 46 is also good for a wot 4 which might be your next plane? whatever you do, if
-
FYI I can still see it even when I'm logged out, but as you said "UK" isn't much of a giveaway
-
Or you could get an asp 52 from just engines, whom would also help and advise you and unlike hobbyking is anything goes wrong they are extremely helpful. I wonder if a 46 might be enough for it? Most trainers have a 46 and you might find it flies better with less weight...

Nice! All I have to do now is get phoenix

You know I'm hopeless at charging! I assume that to charge a car battery I need something along the lines of this https://www.amazon.co.uk/AA-Battery-Charger-Maintainer-batteries/dp/B00DW6RHN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492713238&sr=8-1&keywords=car+battery+chargers Am I correct? Thanks a lot, B Update - I have a cheapo charger that has dual power supply, IE from regular home socket, and a car cigarette lighter. Is it better to buy an adaptor for the car lighter end so it can be connected to my car battery, or will it charge quick enough if just plugg

Oh well that settles it. I don't think I'll be going up now, I've only got the wot foamie and a few shockies that are leccy... B

Absolutely Brilliant Rich! As you say it has endless scope for new opportunities, and on top of that I really love the new interface B

Trust me Shane the crimp will hold up! Just to see how strong a setup really is I got my old Cougars rudder setup and it took my weight whilst suspended from a beam! It might also be worth reinforcing the u/c. Rods old wot 4's undercarriage came of all the time! It may just have been that model but I don't think Rod would repair something badly I use the cheapish fuel tubing from just engines or the super expensive Weston uk stuff. The just engines stuff is ok but wears out. The Weston stuff is mazing but you get what you pay for Any more

May I ask where I can get one of these bundles of joy from? B

It's honestly a mystery Martin!!! I really have no clue what caused it All that matters is that it's fine now! B

Just thought if say it's now back to its reliable good old self!!!!

You can edit your own post but only back to a few hours or so. Before that, even one day, you can't Anyone thinking of flying in the week? Just got back from army camp so would like some flying time! B -
I agree the 39 is a brilliant engine! Rod had one in one of his planes and it was quick to respond and reliable. How much did they cost? I ask because the only engine I've seen to come close is the OS35 MAX AX, one of which I own and is in the front of the cougar, but then again it's £130 which is a ton for a small engine That being said it's one of the only engines that I've used that has the precise feel of a leccy motor! I also like the refined feel of it and just how quality it feels! OS used to make a "blue series" engine, and I'm on the lookout for a 46 version as it looks epic

The other problem I have with it is that the wot 4 is THE tough easy reliable aerobat, flyable in all weather, easy to build and repair. So by lightening it's they've just made it not a wot 4 That being said, it does look good, but you seem to be paying more for less!!! Like the Lamborghini gallardo; its £190,000 for the regular, but £210,000 for the super light version!!! Back to the plane, I get that it's lightened, but does it really need holes in the uc and holes in the tail? It's more fragile than a mini hype! But I still love it and really want one Thoughts?
-
I'm in love But if you want a lightened aerobatic wot 4 why not get a funfly plane? Also, £200 is a bit steep, you can get full size hype 3D for that or something like acrowot xl and two fusions!!!!

As for spares, a lipo checker, spare prop and that's about it. I always take tons of stuff including glues tapes and spare hardware such as a spare clevis, spare bolts, nuts and screws. However the lipo checker, prop are essentials, along with a lipo safe bag and basic tools

Video - Website - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Aphrodite Very interesting mission I found whilst surfing the web and thought some of you might be interested by it. Basically an old B-17 was stripped and filled with explosives and taken off by pilots, whom would bail out halfway and then it would be guided by someone in a support aircraft flying near to it. It would then crash into a precise target detonating on impact. Thoughts?

During the war there was a prototype mustang. There were two strapped together by the wings. I think it was called something like the p-82 or p-85 of summat like that. The Germans also did a bf109 "Z". Now that would be cool I've always wanted to join a jet club once I get more experience but it cost a TON, and needs much more building experience than I have For now I'll stick to a cougar See you later, B

The wot 4 xl is! It seems great as it is meant for aerotowing, but hey ho : The acrowot xl is as you say a briliant model but I get the impression it needs all the large model equipment, yet isn't really a large model. I think I would go for the regular one. In a article on rcme a while back there was a picture of a scratch built "mega wot" - a 100cc wot 4. Now that is cool Enlarging designs is really quite easy! Just add thicker materials and strengthening and you are good to go! I enlarged a hobbyking tek sumo flying wing up to 400%, or with a 4m wingspan, for slope soaring. A
