  1.

After the failed range flight, I spoke to a couple of people, took everything home and started again.

This time I followed the binding instructions to the letter, on both sets of instructions, and adjusted the aerial wires positions.

Out the back on the green, I put the wonky wot 4 foamie on a chair, and distanced myself from the model with the transmitter.

At 50yds (thats old money), I was still getting full control over the radio.

As 30meters (new money) was the suggested test distance, my guess is, it will be OK to repeat the flight test, with a reasonable chance of success?

Now, does anybody want to lend me a model to try it out? (only kidding :-) )

    TTFn,

    Oily

Be aware, this is not a business, its a club!

If you don't understand what a club is, its not a Business, look up the word club in the dictionary.

As we are NOT A BUSINESS, we do NOT buy anything.

Sending us false requests for payment for dodgy invoices is therefore a waste of time for you, and for us.

All such emails are reported as SPAM , and deleted instantly!

    The Management.

I got one of these for my birthday last year!

Has anyone fitted a brushed motor and ESC, as i have an abundance of these laying around. Just wondered how to fit, as it would probably involve a redundant motor mount reinforcer.

As there are no instructions come with it, the pictures on this thread are very helpful, thanks.

    TTFn,

    Oily

My sad duty to inform all that our dear friend and modeller of many years, Colin Agate, passed away on 3rd January 2015.

Colin was a member of CAMFC for many years and was a keen modeller of flying scale models. He will be missed by many.

Colins funeral will take place at 9.20am on Friday 6th February at North East Surrey Crematorium.

Flowers can be sent on the day before to Trueloves funeral directors.

    Oily

Just a reminder that IC model flying at Croydon Airport and Fickleshole is forbidden on Christmas Day, or any Bank Holiday, under terms of the local by-laws.

Please do not risk our flying sites by ignoring the by-laws.

Electric powered models ,however, do not have to be compliant to that by-law, as long as they do not emit a noise unpleasant to the ear.

May I take the opportunity to wish CAMFC members, and any public reader, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    Thankyou,

    Peter Royall,

    CAMFC Chairman.

  6. grumman unsold and listing ended by seller. so not sold yet.

Bit expensive if you ask me, and the postage from the states would be a bit hefty, then there's the vat and import duty......................!

  7. The Portcullis Club will NOT be open this evening for clubnight.

We despatched that event at Fickleshole on the 27th with the family BBQ.

Last year we tried both events, but only 6 people turned up at Kenley, making the exercise a bit of a waste of time for the bars volunteers.

    Not going to repeat.

    Sorry if any inconvenience,

    Regards,

    Oily

  8. I run 11 x 7 on an evolution 53. Bigger props have ground clearance issues.

Would be careful not to much throttle when motor cold or running in.

Mine is flying a Horizon Saratoga

Sorry my pictures are too big to put on here!

    TTFn,

    Oily  .

  9. a pair of spectacles were discovered at the end of club night on 29th May.

The owner may recover them from the Portcullis club.

The club is normally opened by the RAAFA for the veterans on Sunday afternoons, approx 12 - 5pm.

The veterans this weekend, however, are all in Normandy and the club may be closed.

    Oily

  10. Welcome Cabbie.

please keep your wits about you if you are flying on your own.

There are dog walkers and kids from the estate across the way.

The majority are nice people, but there is always exceptions to the rule!

Just don,t leave yourself exposed while you are flying, and have your mobile where you can get to it, in case of any unfortunate event!

Please make sure you close the gate behind you.

    Good luck,

    TTFn,

    Oily
