  1. CAMFC is hosting an interclub fun fly with the Caterham MFC at Fickleshole on Sunday 11th May 2014.

Disruption to normal club flying will be kept to a minimum, but it will happen, especially during the afternoon.

Please come and support your club.

Bring some food of your own to cook on the BBQ if you wish, while it is lit.

Parking may be a bit crowded, please park tight thankyou.

The gate will be closed, as per normal, the padlock will be with Rod.

    any questions?

    TTFn Oily

  2. [bJUST A reminder that this Sunday the Clay Shoot is firing 20/04/2014.]

They have the field booked for the whole day, as per usual, but may decide to finish firing around mid-day, when they may indicate that we may fly.

Please use caution when entering the site, we don't want any accidents!

Lets hope the weather forecast is proven wrong today, it does'nt appear promising.

    Have some good flying,

    TTFn,

    Oily  [/b]

  3. Just a reminder about flying IC models over the Easter weekend. IC is not allowed due to the by-laws on Bank Holidays, both at Croydon Airport and Fickleshole. So, Electric only on Friday and Monday please.

    Committee.

It also has occurred that the Clay Shoot will be on Sunday, as it is the third Sunday of the month!

Might be best to get all your batteries charged up then!

    TTFn Oily

  4. Thanks Dave,

Just to be clear, ANY flying display at Biggin Hill grounds us for the period of the display. NO GREY AREA!

Might also point out that before and after the display day, there may be aircraft arriving, practicing and departing, so a vigilant watch is required, and model flying "Solo" is to be discouraged.

Sorry to be a bore, but as usual common sense rules, and CAP 658 applies.

On the "UP" side, bring a picnic and a comfy chair to the field and enjoy the show! :-)

    Thankyou,

    Your Chairman Oily

  5. The committee had considered the Club attending this new display, providing a static show of our models and promoting the club to spectators.

The pitch was applied for, but there was some confusion as we were to be considered as a "trade Stand" thereby attracting a considerable sum as rental for the pitch.

Having pointed out the mistake, we were directed to the Sevenoaks club, who were supposed to be arranging the model "flying" ?

It would appear that the Sevenoaks club are not interested (allegedly), and we were directed to the Caterham Club. Same response!

CAMFC then, will sit on the sidelines until the Organisers have got things sorted, but there will probably be no attendance for us at this event, as it stands at the moment.

The Display is due to begin around mid-day, and go on until 8.30pm.

Nothing to stop anyone attending as an individual.

    That is all,

    Oily

  6. Southern Model Show is being run by Headcorn Events this year and hosted by the Maidstone MFC.

The booking in form for pilots is available now from MMFC on line.

I have posted a link on the Camfc facebook page to download the form, and will post it on this forum when i next get the opportunity.

I am booking in with the Tiger Moth and the Mustang/and or Hurricane.

    Anybody wish to join me?

I shall need a helper on the flightline,

    TTFn,

    Oily

  7. Suprised to find Roger all on his own at the patch when I arrived today! 2pm.

    Are you all sick?

    I hope not.

It was a bit windy, but i managed a flight with the Foamie wot 4 which was a bit exiting, and Roger had a good flight with his Spitfire, which was rolling without using the ailerons!!

At least he got a flight for his 88 mile drive! (or double that if you include going back again!)

    Anon,

    TTFn Oily

  8. Roger has written a short history of the Southern Model Airshow, which now appears on the Website front page, under the heading "SMAS History".

Please note that it is not intended to be a "book", with every last detail, it is just a brief history.

Please take a look at your convenience,

    Thankyou,

    Peter Royall.
