Ooh - Pi!

Well Ive ordered a case, and bought a keyboard, and she's up and running. Plugged the ethernet in and guess what? I'm on the net with the browser - now that was easy How do I set a static IP in Debian and start an SSH Server then Arun?? lol
3. My Raspberry Pi arrives today.... Who else is playing with these then? I know some of you are. Edit: It's here, connected and working - I wish I hadnt chucked out my USB keyboard last week though, as I could then get past the Linux Login.... DOH!
4. You can get fuel proofing in either spray or in tins, or you can use epoxy resin thinned with meths and painted on. I've used both, or neither. Jim
5. If I remember correctly, I believe you're supposed to soak dead LiPos in salty water for 24 hours to make them inert before disposing of them. I'm sure google will tell tell you for sure.
6. I used the front prop ring centrered on the prop with a drill bit. I then drilled the holes through.
7. You want to get it looked at by a professional Richard...

Almost all my maggies had standard undercarriage Trevor and lasted for ages as they're so easy to land.

Terry Robinson has one that should be almost done as well. Perhaps you could all maiden on the same day?

Oh I miss my maggys I sold one as I was taking liberties with it and it wasnt going to last. The bloke pleaded with me to let him have it, so I did. He smashed it to bits within a week. I lost my last one to transmitter problems... They fly so well and look, well, just nice Looking forward to seeing it in the air now Trevor.

I used contact adhesive when I did mine Trevor. I think there might have been some meduim cyano involved in places too.

Toothbrush plane?

Bring me a dart to the AGM please Dazzle
14. You're right Dave, you're just confused
15. This is the motor that I just took out of my old disposable electric toothbrush. Whilst cutting it apart, it did become apparent that I could change the battery and the brush, but its too late now isnt it So, my idea is to try and make this into a little free-flight model for the indoor sessions. Runs of 1.5v (it was a AAA cell in the handle) so I'm thinking one of the e-Flite LiPos at 3.7 might just work without smoking the motor too early. I could always put a resistor in but thats be a waste of volts! So, what design? I want it small and li
16. Well to be honest Gerard, whos going to come searching here just to break into an on-line sim session? I cant see the crown jewels going missing as a result! I'd be happy to post session details here personally.

But still could be the cold? Maybe worth performing some gyro tests?

Glad its a f/s. You'll be able to prop hang it with a .61 too

Looking good... Wat engine do you have in mind Trevor? Mine have all flown with .52 four strokes which I think is about perfect but if its a rear carb, might need some modification of the firewall to get the motor as far back as possible.
20. Well we sucessfully flew the Huckebein today at Fickleshole. Thanks to Emay and Arun for the hand launches. No real bad tendancies, despite the warnings on the forums about the models tendancy to loop into the ground on launch. We simply did a couple of test glides, then on the third go I simply applied throttle to gain speed and off she went. Getting around 6-7 minutes at the moment on a 3S 2100 pack, but Leon reckons that was leacing around 48% in the pack so I think 8 minutes will be easily achievable. A couple of pretty good landings, with just a little mushiness of the controls
21. Can anyone recommend or has got some matte varnish that wont destroy Depron? I want to seal the decals on.
22. Under the duct is no good as there's no access there. The instructions call for it either behind the rear elevator servo (which is where I have it) or in front, but that is over the motor. There are 2 servos up front which both have to run directly past the ESC - not ideal, but what can one do I pulled the Rx aftwards with some cotton, up into the tail section and there is stays. Impossible to get it fixed in there without using excessively long servo extensions which I didnt want to do. It blows a lot of air, so as Alan advises, I've stopped worrying Well, its all together no
23. Its quite hard to determine a vibration at the kind of speeds (frequency) that this fan will be spinning by ear or feel I think. The motor is rated at 4200 rpm/v. On a 3cell pack thats 11.1v = 46620 rpm. This would terefore be an out of balance oscillation of 46.62 Khz. I dont know if you'd feel or hear that over the normal niose of the motor at full wack - perhaps I need to do it a low throttle. I am going to pull the aft Rx through the tail as far as it will go away from the motor/esc, but this does mean that it wont be mechanically fixed in place - will this matter? It'll be s
24. Cheers Dave, I'll watch the video and look at taking some preventative steps. I have run it - it just sounds loud and windy to me - nothing to compare it to. Re the camoflage, I had to put the rug under it or you'd not have been able to see it in the photo!
