Well all the internals are done with the exception of fitting the Rx in place. Spent some time adding the decals too. I'm pleased with how it looks. Only jobs now are: fitting the Rx, joining the fuselage halves (going to just glue it I thnk) and balancing the fan. So, electirc boys - do I really need to do that? Heres a pic for ya'll

Sounds nice - except the roundels ... What??? Didnt you see the picture on the box Trev? lol Looking forward to seeing it... More pics please

I love Magnatillas What scheme are you going to do Trevor?

Thanks to Dave for supplying me with 3 of the very small DuBro connectors this evening. I'm about to go and drill some servo horns

Right so first questions on the Alfa build for you electric heads... The elevator and Aileron push rods are thinner than thin things on a diet. They have a 90' bend at the surface end, and nothing at the servo end. Assuming that the bend goes into the horn on the surface, 2 questions: 1, how do I stop it coming out the hole? Its just a bend in the wire at the moment. Heat-shrink or something? 2, what do I use on such small wire to connect to the servo horn and be able to make adjustment. Can I use teeny tiny turrets, and if so, where to get them from? I've used magnets to hold

Naaa get something more of the same era - maybe an ME262 or a Komet?

I posted a week or so ago that I had acquired one of these models. As most of you know, electric isnt my preferred power source, nor are models of this type generally, so I will probably need some advice as I go along from the likes of Jaques and Andre who fly these things a lot. So far I have the following bits: Hyperion HP-Y22S-4200 motor and 3 blade fan (that came with it). An Arrowind 25A ESC with BEC. 3x Hitec HS55 servos (2 for ailerons & reflex and 1 for elevator). A tube of UHU POR. I'll be running it on 2.4. I've read a huge thread on this interesting aeropl

Good spot Trevor. Seems Saito saw the error of their ways too in the new version.

Hi Steve. So this is how I understand it. If the channel is set to 'F' on the master, then all the levels recevied from the buddy box have all the reversing, expo, dual rates and trims applied by the master. If the master changes trim or switches rates, the buddy box gets this as well. I set up a model in the Tx to be used as the slave with nothing reversed, no expo and everything set to 100% and call it 'Buddy Box'. If the channel is set to 'N', nothing is done by the master to the channel, and all the settings are taken from the buddy box. In this mode, you have to replicate all

I was just thinking of you telling us how its going and what youre doing out of interest Richard. If you want to write it as an article for the newsletter, then even better as everyone will get to read it then. The only official bit would be to make sure that any and all rules were followed, especially where safety is concerned, but I expect you've looked into all that. Even that side of it would make interesting readin if you'd care to share what youve learned. I for one know diddly-squat about the subject

I'm sure people will be interested. Tellus what youve ordered and how it all works?
-
Sounds interesting Richard. Why dont you make it the subject of an article or 2 for the newsletter? Tell us what you doing then?

Well I was actually looking at the profile Yak that Leon has... I like the lights he has on it But, a firefly might be fun too. I should get paid and then think about it perhaps.

Well done Trevor - she looked great in the air

Tomorrows BBQ sounds like a good day Trev! I'll be maidening my funfighter I hope
-
Great! Thanks mate - let me know how much.
-
Cubs OK - kind of the same as your damage Leon. Wings both OK, but the wing tube is bent (where did you get your new one from?) and the right side of the fuselage at the top needs some attention... I have a failsafe, but don't think its very good - I might look at the one you suggest. Its a hoot though, and very fast Already running a 6v NiMh on the Rx so thats OK.

Had fun today with the buggey. Lee and I tinkered with it for a bit and re-wound the starting cord twice. I think I need some new tires and a ew servo saver and maybe a new clutch but other than that it goes like a rocket! Oh, and maybe switching it to 2.4 might be a good idea after it went of on its own at one point Shame I ditched the Cub at the end of the day though....

Mines deffo the real thing Leon. Yup, planning on bringing it up tomorrow Gerard.

I've just been looking at the Futaba S-Bus system - interesting but I think it's going to be an expensive option I understand that the S-Bus Receivers are telemetry capable, but I hope they don't limit that to this system only...
