    Klemm 25

Klemm 25 Latest creation off the building board. Model is all built up from Balsa and ply and is 72 inch wing span. Veryy light construction weighs in at just above 31/2 lbs. power is a small Saito30 four stroke. Hopefully with the large wing area it will perform much as a powered glider pic attached Pete
  2. Dave, Thanks for the flight update. Glad you enjoyed it. The pedigree was good and the Aeromaster was the bees knees years ago when you had to build from a plan or a kit non of this plastic stuff!!!! Thanks for the picture looks really good. May have some very scale ones to sell in the near future,I w2ill let you know Pete

Nice one Trevor glad the suggestion worked out well . They look very authentic and are usually lighter than the Williams bros and can be made from scrap so as far as cost goes no contest Pete
  4. Hi Trevor, Thanks for the update it looks good. I had no doubts as to its abilities to fly well. No doubt you had the nav lights working etc. Should last a lot longer than the film covered ARTFs Looking forward to seeing it fly at the Southern Model Airshow with the warbird slot. really pleased it went to a good home Pete PS I may be selling some more of the scale models due to an eye problem I will let you know what is on offer after the 8th March Pete

    Magnatilla

Trev, For what its worth I do all my painting using the masking film that I reccomended. I have found no crfeep on solartex or any of the fabrics available. The beauty about the mask that on complicated areas you can apply the film without cutting the shape and then draw in pencil around a card template the design you want and then very carefully cut out your shape in situ using a very sharp 10A blade. The film cuts well and providing you are very !!!!!! careful you will not cut through the fabric. My staggerwing was done as this with the American 30s style lettering and it came out fine.

Nice one Trev. If you have problems with ordinary masking tape then the best product for masking is from The AirBrush centre at Lancing. Thier masking film is really excellentand is good against paint creep. A roll about 10" wide is about a fiver but lasts for ages. It is good with airbrush or normal paint brush Pete
  7. Thanks for your comments. I will post a flight review when the weather gets better. Should fly ok as the weight is within the spec and having flaps on the bottom wing should make it easier to land. Trev have you flown the P47 yet. Let me know how you get on and Dave same question for you have you flown the Aeromaster yet? Peter
  8. My latest project now completed, have to admit it has sat around on the building bench whilst working up the enthusiasm to paint, now done using KLassKote epoxy paints. engine is a RCV 91cd which just fitted in the cowl so no chopping bits off the aluminium cowl which was quite a bonus. Colour scheme is based on the Staggerwing at White Waltham. Roll on the good weather so I can have the maiden flight Pete

    Weston Hype 3D

Blimey Trevor you really made a good job of your new Hype. Similar thing happened at our local field with a P51 a total lack of glue. He packed up the pieces and sent it back to Ripmax who relaced the kit and gave him a vouchere for the engine may be worth getting hold of Weston and showing the lack of glue Hope thisd helps Pete

    Miles Magister

Nice one Trevor being a Miles Aircraft fanatic I love to see models of great aircraft Pete
  11. Don, What a tragedy, lot of hard work went into the model. Did the engine survive unscathed Pete

    Miles Magister

Trevor, Looking good I suppose on power it depends on the weight. Colin's tend to be on the heavy side. By the way nice to hear from Martin, hope you are keeping well Peter The other out of TX control
  13. re your query. G-AKIN is still flying and now belongs to the Sywell( Northants) Trust. It remained until very recently in the same family ownership from new and was raced in the Kings Cup Air races by one of the brothers Spiller( Northants farmers). I always had a passion for this particular aircraft and since I stared modelling it was always on my things to do. Since retiring I found I had the time and ran out of excuses. With a gentle prod from Ken Sheppard, the ed of RC Model Flyer, who convinced me it would be a worthwhile exercise in doing some articles I succombed hence it is now finish
  14. Her's anoyher view of the Miles Messenger
  15. Just in case noone saw the finished plane in R/C Model Flyer I have posted a couple of pics which give a brief idea of what it looks like. Problem that I have now is it will not fit in my car and so far gary B has been kind enough to transport for me.

    Tidy Fuelling

Ifg you want it tidy and not get messy and have a filter you have a choice of two fuel valves specially made for models either a Dubro or Thunder Tiger will be great . I use on all my models and the valve comes with a nice attachment for your tube from the fuel and locks into the nvalve,as they have acut off to the carb whilst filling you get no carb flooding. I know Sussex Model Centre stock these at about £6.00 each

    replacement engine

Have you tried just engines for the spares,if they haven't got one then you could try John D Haytree who advertises in most of the model mags. Pete
  21. Chris, Thanks for your nice words. Love to be at the school but I have a previous. I will bring it to club night like to get some tips on airbrushing from you. I have a Paasche brush but it is very marginal on any paint that has some high pigment content so I have used a spray gun which was a freeby when I bought my compressor from Screwfix It worked very well but as always the hardest part is making and doing the masks etc. I have always thought that airbrushing would be a great subject for a club night. 22. Heres my latest creation. It is the J3 Piper Cub clipped wing from the Sig Kit. traditional Balsa and ply construction with Solaartex covering and finished with Klass Kote epoxy paint in the scheme suggested on the plan . It is a little smaller than the one dave Stephens flew with great skill at the SMAS wing span is 65" and the power is from an ENYA 46 fourstroke . Looking forward to the frirst flight. Thanks to Darren who gave me the kit in the first place as it was surplus to his requirements. Peter
  23. Lovely Job. Was it airbrushed and which type and what was the paint etc. Pete
  24. Jim, There is away of putting the knurling as prop nut on the extension. I will bring mine along on saturday and then let me know what you want and then I will make and bring to club night Hope this is ok Pete
  25. Jim, No problem If you need one then let me know. I think PTFE will distort and slip but I could be wrong. I have just made an extension piece for my Laser 150 in my Miles Speedsix this was about 2ins long and needed a spindle out of steel. It is a good way to go and gives the flexibility to put the engine where you want it. If you get problems let me know. I am sure that Alan or yours truly can knock something up for you. Pete
