-
Hi Dave Any chance you can throw your copy of it over here and I'll fix it?
-
Website problemo sorted. Found the cause of it too and fixed that whilst I was at it. Love how this free software costs hundreds in man hours to stop it falling over all the time

World with a fox wrapped around the bottom? (FireFox) World only coloured blue in the shape of an E? (Internet Explorer) World in 3 colours that looks like that old game "Simon says"? (Google Chrome)

What does the icon look like that you click on to surf the web? Can you take a screenshot from your phone?
-
Nope, no confusion here mate, understood what you said perfectly, both times If you can find out what web browser your phone is using, that would be the only info I need. When you look at the homepage, do you get the little box with 3 lines in, which when clicked, opens the website menu, and some items have a + next to them? If you do, its the + you need to click on to expand that menu item, as clicking on the menu item itself doesn't do anything.

Hi Dave What browser are you using on your device? I have so far tested it with Safari, Firefox and Chrome on the iPhone5, iPhone 6+, iPad Mini and iPad Air, and everything does what it is meant to. You shoud get the "Burger menu" thingy in the top left, those 3 little bars, which then open the menu with + signs next to each item that has sub-menu items..

Steve Have sent you a PM regarding this, but on the whole, editing is limited to 60 minutes and deleting posts is disabled. Update on the images, it seems a lot of the corrupted images have links to "tapatalk"

An actual board, that hovers, finally...

Ben, many thanks. So long as it is working, its way down on the list of things to do right now.. If there is a problem, before we all jump on me to "fix it", can we first establish if it is limited to you or if others are having the same issue. Just like the "New posts", mine show up just fine, and I test these things across 4 computers with 4 different web browsers, hence just clicking on something is not classed as testing. It needs to be checked carefully on different operating systems with different browsers. Also, your forum signature makes it very difficult to read your po

Hi Trevor Whilst I'm sure it very likely can be, after the agro it caused in upgrading the forum software, and the headache I had removing it just to get the upgrade to run, I would err on the side of "Keeping things simple", just due to lack of hours in a day in maintaining yet another app/addon. I don't know enough about Tapatalk backend either, as I have deliberately avoided it due to many problems with it, and as so many websites are going mobile friendly now, it might feel like a backwards move?

If you can show me some examples of what you mean, I can then see what info is being used from our website and adjust as needed.. Have only now just found an ideal calendar for the website and will populate it over the next few days with the info I copied from old one.. Newsletter facility coming next

Sadly I have absolutely no idea why that happened. I know and understand everything I have done, and I did spot it the day it happened, as I saw my own posts go down dramatically too, from 1000+ to 200+, but could see nor find any logical reason for it.. I can see some posts were deleted, but nowhere near the amount of what the post counts when doen by. Handfuls of posts deleted, yet post counts when down hundreds per-person...

Thanks Mark, that answers 2 questions perfectly
-
I know. Wasn't why I was asking..
-
Hi Mark I think I have now resolved it. You are currently still just a "Registered user". Are you a Paid up member of the club? (That feels like a really stupid question)
-
Sorry I didnt make up there tonight guys, I manage to get covered head to toe in Mud cleaning my driveway..
-
Hi Trevor Nope. No need, its now smartphone friendly, so doesn't require any additional software. Not just the forum either, the entire website

I know taking it off, could also course some problems with getting membership money etc etc! Good question, I guess we should ask him on Thursday night? Do we have to have somewhere for applications to go? How many does he actually get turn up by post vs how many people pay to join in person at the field or club night? Do people still use cheques anymore? Tune in next time for more suspense lol

@Dave: I know, when I was reading it yesterday I did think "When was this last updated?" as the content itself is out of date and needs updating asap, we can sort that as soon as a new update is ready and approved by committee I assume? As said, for now all I could do was copy/paste the info into text files before taking down the old site then copy/paste into the new system trying to get things in the right places etc. Still not finished, but the critical info is back where it was. @Rod: Now to sort the not-critical stuff like the calendar as that needs a fair bit of attent

Hi Dave Sadly it does seem that all previous attachments were corrupted in the very first upgrade process carried out on the old server. This is likely due to the huge jump in versions and possibly also the server software, as my servers are running current stable versions of everything, whereas the old server had not been updated in over 2 years, and was running software that is long obsolete. I have a full backup of the original files I downloaded from the old server right before the move and none of those files can be opened at all when following the instructions to rename th

Forum now all updated to latest version. Apologies for how long it took, there were hundreds of files I had to delete manually 1 by one, and of course, it doesnt tell you them in alphabetical order Hope you like it Please test it out, press everything and if you find anythig that doesnt work, please do let me know I have noticed that image attachments have gone a bit weird or gone, am trying to see if there is a way to fix this..

I hadnt even started yet when you posted this Trevor, although I have done a lot of cleanups, some tweaks and run some minor upgrades this week, ditching a lot of stuff that is unused and been messing about with settings. The transfer to its new home is now finished and we are just awaiting DNS to propagate over the next 24/48 hours, so if you see the forum closed, then you are looking at the old one, if its open then you are looking at it from its new home Only took about 90 minutes to shift it all, thats the easy part done

Hi Ben The entire forum is all based around modelling.. You can post your questions anytime in the relevant sections, dont worry at all about feeling like a newbie or beginner, we all had to start from somewhere.. Ask anything you like, the worst thing you can do is never ask When I look back at some of the things I asked when I first got into this, I think "What a newbie", but back then I didnt know, and everybody at the club is really helpful and patient too, we actually enjoy helping people succeed, so in many ways, you owe it to us to ask, so we can get our fun from helping

I fixed itttttt God this phpBB is a dustbin to work with compared to IPB... I've spent the last 6+ years using IPB and vBulletin and IPB wins hands down... Any other bits you guys want, within reason, then just hollar..
