  1. Feels the same, looks the same... What makes you say that Pete.. Still frequently very slow, and I still cant upload an avatar bigger than 12kb, and 80px x 80px... C'mon Paul, I know your busy mate, but seriously, these tiny tiny restrictions on avatar sizes and KB's..? The smallest I can get it to, at 80px x 80px is 14kb, and by then, its lost any detail at all making it pointless
  2. Hmm, thanks Dave... How exactly do I discharge a lipo that has zero voltage at any of its power connectors, both the main cable and the balance leads? I'm not keen on trying to dismantle the thing, and it is likely that it is still juiced up, but has a busted connection somewhere after the short-out..
  3. That is after you rupture it with a pin or nail. lol, if you rupture the pack, salt water is the least of your worries
  4. Thanks guys... I've give overlander a call tomorrow and ask them For the sake of £10, its not worth prodding about with it and find 1 or 2 cells are live and go bang on me.. Needless to say, once I got the wiring the right way round, my groundstation power system is now working, and each battery is switchable, with a pretty green light and a voltmeter to monitor it
  5. Well, I finally did it, and shorted out a lipo, only for a fraction of a second, but now its showing as totally dead.. I put it on the battery meter, and nothing, no power at all, battery meter doesnt even come on.. Tested the meter with other Lipo's and its fine. I will say too, I did this testing a custom made switch setup for my FPV groundstation, and accidentally plugged in cables into the switch the wrong way round as they are all blue crimp connectors, but I did it in the garden just to play it safe, and sure enough, the fraction of a second it was switched on and sparked, the li

Awesome, they even have a MEN only DVD for $70.... lol
  7. The controller board for my Tri-copter has a 3axis gyro on it... Was £40 on ebay... No idea how good it is, but I dare say dave is going to claim his is much better lol...

    MCPX Modding...

lol, I know, boggles the mind though... £99 for the heli, then £600 to down-grade the living daylights out of it with crap.. Bit of bling does look good though

    MCPX Modding...

Nice canopy, but the rest is naff... I like plastic, it bounces when it lands More plastic = More impact absorbtion, but yeah, I'm a sucker for the bling too, you should see my Tamiya Mini, that thing owes me some cash I did however get some nice bright yellow and pink blaes for my mCPX just so I can see it better when spending all night hovering in 1 place lol
  10. This is what triggered me to set this up now, as I was watching the Finless bob videos you told me to watch over a year ago and he did a video series on the Futaba 10C too, where he shows the Futaba 10C and its wonderful throttle cut menu, leaving me sitting there scratching ones head like the dog who didnt get a bone... "Huh, wheres mine"...
  11. True, didnt think of those big Mothers that fly on EP... Still, anything on EP is dangerous to life an limbs, but maybe I'm just very pedantic about safety since my very first encounter with electric motors and having a model go flying across my office after arming itself, because no manuals had it anywhere that Ch3 on Futaba had to be reversed! lol.. Now I'm simply cautious, and methodic with all models, keeping safety in mind all the time, hence the wanting to find a way to launch the Xeno, safely, without loss of a digit. or Garard loosing an arm or breaking his neak.. Sadly the
  12. Cheers mate, but the 10CG is specifically listed as not being able to manage a throttle cut at all on Electric models, in both its user manual, and the official programming guide I had to buy, which was basically somebody translated the bloody manual into something understandable. The 10C has it, but not the CG, but I know Leon was setting kill switches on the 7C's at the field a few weeks ago, he was running about shouting "off-set" with a big grin on his face lol, hence I wanted to find a way to actually do this on the 10CG, even though the manual and user guide say it cant be done..
  13. This one is definately going into my RC blog too, as I've seen others asking things like this about the Fut 10CG, and even its manual says it doesnt have a 100% throttle cut option, only throttle cut for IC models, where it closes the carb.. No good for an ESC..
  14. Hiya Dave, I dont mind launching the slipstream that way, but the Xeno is at least 2 or 3 tmes heavier, so, side launching it is a pig, hence the need to find a new way, as I really want to fly it again some more.. Thanks Arun, glad to know its not me doing something odd, that others do it like that too When my back is better I hope to be able to test this out now, because those 2 - 3 seconds after throwing the Xeno, to getting the power on, are enough for it to be back on the ground already.
  15. Awite geezers.... So, I "think" I finally have the throttle cut issue resolved with the Futaba 10CG, because I wanted a way to throw the Xeno and have instant 100% throttle at the flick of a switch with my right hand, and still control the right stick... I simply set 2 throttle curves, 1 with zero throttle regardless of throttle position, and at the flick of a switch, normal throttle curve, so I can flick the switch to set all 0% throttle, throw the wing over my head with fingers still safe, and as soon as its out of my hand, flick a switch and watch it go, while still controlling its
  16. Ahhh, the pre-installed smoke... Designed exclusively for airshows, just testing it out huh, making sure it actually works lol.. Blimey, what prop did you have on that can?
  17. Nice one Arun, looks awesome, but not being a coder like that, I think I would be lost trying to understand the code it runs on. Seems expensive too for a Tx only.. May have to have a more detailed read later, as its very small text heavy, that website. Me like big pictures and fewer words
  18. Cheers Dave / Sam.. What exactly do you mean by snap? Do you mean the model actually snaps in half, or it just does a violent move? Spoke to Avi today and Ali recons the 2000kv motor can much easier run a 6x5.5 prop no probs, and gives a wider performance envelope, yet can stil go like the nutz, without all the noise, so am gonna give that a shot once its built....
  19. I used to host the giantcod website, and had many a long chat, into the night with the owner, and know where his stuff comes from, hence I never, ever shop there. Nothing against giantcod, but have seen a lot of the cheap crap, and what it does, and personally want to avoid that... Time constraints dictate that for me, it takes me about a month to build what most would get done in a few evenings, so I dont want to spend 2 weeks building a wing, only to have it wrecked by some cheap shite components. That extra few quid is pricess for me in peace of mind and better gear.. I dont want t
  20. I know, these compbupa thingies are a mystery to me... lol
  21. What spec PC you running flight sim X on Arun? I have it on mine too, but am finding it seems to grind to a halt and take forever to load up.... I have a twin i7 quad core setup with 8GB ram and RAID0 across 2 1TB drives and 1.5GB ATI graphics, yet it runs like a pig...
  22. I'm thinking for mine, the perkins 2000kv, or just copy Leons and dont go full throttle lol (Chicken) Colin actually has both, the Raven and the Slipstream, and the last time I saw him, he had the Slipstream up the field which had the 2212 motor on.. Not sure which way to go now, the 2000kv inrunner or the 3000kv inrunner. Hmmmmmm.. I think either way its gonna get a EnErG 40A ESC, just to keep options open... Thanks for the replies and help guys, and you Dave Am leaning towards the "be brave and stick a 3000kv inrunner in it" lol... Should be good for 1 mad flight..
  23. Something like this with a 35A ESC on it and a 6x4 APC prop... http://www.jperkinsdistribution.co.uk/d ... 0-%20EnErG Any good? Just updated the link to the perkins website... 2000kv inrunner...
  24. Leon and his curse of the "Dont break the undercarraige"... Bloody hell Leon...
  25. Hey guys (Those who have, or had Slipstreams) So, I've veered a bit off the Multiplex road, crappy sat nav, and wound up with a Flyingwings Slipstream wing.. Dont ask me how it happened, probably too much caffine and lack of sleep... Anywho... I've seen Colins one and a few others up the field and thats pretty impressive, but never get the chance to see what power trains are running them. I know Colins has a 2212 motor in, which goes like "I'm Richard Branson", but couldnt see the ESC in it or prop size. Colin & the gang... if you see this, what ESC is in yours? I hav
