  1. HI Paul Funny how us internet experts take our knowledge for granted, its easy to forget how others dont know much about it. I guess, like when I joined the club a year ago and knew nothing about RC back then.... Shame really because from a visitors point of view, if I were to checkout the traders, I'd be thinking "What the heck" I'm really glad Multiplex are going to be at the show though $$$$$$$$
  2. Personalisation... Hmmmm, paint it black all over, top/bottom/wings.wheels, the lot, all black... I have some paint left over from when i did mine if you want it? lol Dave loves planes painted all blak, he reckons "Thereeeeeeeeeee great"
  3. Hey Guys On the traders list on the SMAS website, the following links bring up either websites that take you away from the SMAS website, empty websites, or nothing. A C Hawkins > Website is practically empty (Lots of pages called "empty" in the navigation which doesnt look good for visitors) Aerobatic Helicopter Association > Needs to open in a new window so as not to take people away from the show website CCRC Models > URL is wrong and points to ccrcmodels.co.uk instead of ccrcmodels.com Century UK > URL needs to open in a new window (as above) Horizon
  4. Cheers geezers, will drop him a direct line..
  5. Hi Guys Does the club have any Club T-Shirts available for the show by any chance? XL Polo shirts...
  6. Good reply Jim, I guess either we wont be seeing him, or if he does turn up, he will be the one with egg on his rather red face....
  7. Blimey Dave, thats REALLY restrained, nicely put, and glad it got backed up from others too. Bloody hell, these people have money for RC gear, then bitch that £12 is expensive... He may be one of those "Only buys those expensive £5 receivers from china" kinda people...
  8. WOW, that tree by the BBQ was big, and its easy to forget what the field looks like in winter...

and what happened once jim let go of your ankles and let you get in the glider? ha ha ha ha ha haaaaa
  10. lol, as misery and complaining are banned from the field completely, should we carry on with this at the field?
  11. Absolutely, full size is a dream for many, but a reality for so few. When I was in the cadets, we used to go to all sorts of shows for free, but whenever it was in the "official capacity" it was sooo boring, and actually felt more like a chore than anything else... Hence I was thinking invite them along as normal visitors with a free pass so they can actually enjoy the show, leave their uniforms at home and relax and see what fun it actually is, then signup their parents to the hobby, or themselves...
  12. I see what your referring to, I wasnt actually meaning to use them as any sort of resource though, I know what they can be like, I was once an NCO, and I wouldnt have asked my lot to do anything important back then lol... I was thinking more along the lines of simply just saying to them "Hey, do you want to come and watch the show" end of... No help required, just come along and be a spectator, but without paying to get in, sort of like a "young persons discount" but for already targeted audiences who are somewhat more interested than the average punter, and young enough to be likely t
  13. Hey Guys Out of interest, and a good way of grabbing the attention of youngsters, does anybody ever invite the Air Training Corp cadets along to the SMAS at all? If not, is it just because its a pain to organise or there isnt enough hours in the day? I think it would be a great idea to invite some of the croydon squadrons down for the weekend, and give them a free pass for the show for sat/sun as a way of targeting already keen flyers into the hobby surely? If its a "lot more bovva than a hovva" then I'll be happy to sort it all out....
  14. 2morrow is gun club isnt it guys? (According to my reminders)
  15. I wanted to, but what about my dogs?? I didnt quite think that part through very carefully.. I cant really tie them to my waist all day, nor leave them in the car.. My black lab is well behaved, but the yellow is a nutter, he just runs off all over the place, doesnt come back when called, that will be dangerous.... So the wife is off friday, so I can come over from either thursday night or friday morning..
  16. I'll happily pop along for a few hours on the wed/thur to shoot some of the setting up.. Already plotting a storyboard for it in my head I did the website for a similar thing www.towshow.tv a few years back

    prangy covering

I would if I had any but so far, all my elapor models are still in 1 peice, so I dont have any off-cuts... The only bits I have laying around are EPP from Avicraft...

Hey Peter/anybody... Would IPA be good for cleaning off Elapor prior to painting, to get off that greasy film they use in the factory to get the foam out of the molds? The Multi-primer does the same thing, but cost's 5x the price of a bottle of IPA and is a third of the size too..
  19. Up for what? I have no idea what your on about, what you trying to rope me into here....? ok, go on then, I'm in
  20. Steve? Oy cheeky..... only kidding... Aint no "I" in club.... lol
  21. Hi Alan Thanks for the very kind offer of the tent, but I'm actually considering going home each night and coming back each morning, or kipping in the car fri/sat nights if there is at least a reasonable shower and food close by. A tent is great but then I need sleeping bag, kip mat etc, and it will only ever be used once, plus I have music/radio/power in the car for laptop/phone too.. As far as I know, Chris has put me down for bring/buy, so having a helper or three would be great, or should I say, you guys having me to help would be good, although it could turn into a "bring it and s
  22. Spoke to Chris today, Dogs, not a good idea with my 2, their not exactly as chilled as rogers dogs unfortunately, so that knocks me out for Wed/Thur, so am now officially coming Fri/Sat/Sun, and am considering the "sleeping in your car" thing... Unless anybody got a spare tent space.. Wife is fine with me doing fri/say/sun Chris, so thats an "All stations go"... Just need to find something to do Friday huh?
  23. Hi Chris Can you put me in for mowing with Tom purhaps? I can come down every day no prob's. Can I bring my 2 dogs with me?
  24. Indeed, the first version was pants... AVI files suck! I hope you managed to download it? I love videoing peoples flying and showing people the laughs we all have, its great PR for a great club too ..
  25. Right guys, I've got the proper widescreen edit uploaded now... You might want to expand the window to get the proper widescreen effect as the little default window "might" show it in square format.... Steve, you should be able to download the source file now, right from the same screen it plays from. The file I uploaded was just under 1GB in size, so I hope your not using dialup internet?? URL is still the same: http://vimeo.com/13065629 I just replaced the original .avi file
