  1. I reckon Steve should build one too, in "Glow in the dark yellow" I'd build a depron foamie one if I had a clue what I was doing
  2. Sorry guys, that vid turned out awful quality, it seems ".avi" stands for "Almost a video image" Have re-exported it to .wmv which is now the size I was expecting the first time around and will re-upload a better quality one tonight which is 1GB and proper widescreen. The downside is, exporting 17minutes of video takes an hour...
  3. Heres the video of it all... http://vimeo.com/13065629 The first version came out at 76GB, so that wasnt too clever of me... Second attempt got it down to 200+mb and kept it in HD too
  4. Am ust editing / peicing together the video footage of it all now...
  5. I'd come down on a daily basis... I dont live far, and if its gonna be hot, I like the luxury of a home shower and my own bed I can come down every day if needed, if somebody says "Heres a job we need you to do" then sure, no prob's...
  6. Can I do some mowing too? I can be there any day during the week, no prob's if needed every day
  7. Can I get a copy then for fun? Will it fit on my 16gb USB stick?
  8. Fantastic pic's, when do we get to see the utube vid?

    I'm a broad!

Even I managed to have a little fun non-fly all on my own taxi-ing around the runway at almost full pelt after you lot buggered off and left me... Am determined that tomorrow, I'm switching off all phones/email, everything, will get there much earlier. On the plus side, I did manage to get a few toys out and get my trainer wayd at 2kg, tested its Watts and got 420w at WOT and 9700RPM at WOT, which isnt bad for this little setup. Hope your having fun over there Jim, dont stay too long.

    Twinstar II

right chaps, one thing I have a horrible sinking feeling about is how I put the wiring together.... As you can see from the wiring channel in each side of the wing, there are a mass of wires making there way from edge to centre, getting bigger and bigger the closer it gets to the middle: Well, after 4 months of endless reading, asking all you guys and asking many more, it was decided to fit the 30A ESC's right in behind the brushless motors (2 x JP480's) which should also keep them nice and cold Also, expanding on what Darren did with his, I totally turned the motor mou

    Twinstar II

Hi Guys Thought I might as well post up my build of my Twinstar II here, give you some bedtime reading if your really bored, and give me a little place for you lot to tell me if/what I'm doping wrong instead of whacking posts all over the shop.... So, I bought a Twinstar II back in November, and now 4 months later, its "almost" looking lie a plane, but, I'll show you all some pretty pictures anyway of the story so far, just in case anybody is interested. The pretty box: Well, the packaging it comes in is not brilliant, everything sits loose in the box, no bubble wrap or cardb

    Engine running backwards?

Hey Leon, hows things? When you say "Throw the prop", do you actually mean throw it as in, launch it into mid-air, detached from the engine? Well the prop carrys the momentum of the crank what normally and what happens (in slow motion) is the the engine pre detonates causing the engine reverses, this in turns loosens the prop nut, now depending how much thread is on the crank and how quickly it undo's will either mean a loose prop spinning on the crank or the prop detaching from the crank and airframe.

    Engine running backwards?

Thanks Peter Is it dangerous or would it do any damage if it suddenly started running in reverse?
  18. Hey Guys While running in my new engine today, after everybody buggered off and left me, I had a really weird thing happen. My little engine spluttered a bit, as if it was going to cut out, then it came back to life again.... The weird part is, the propellor was going the wrong way round and it sounded a little different, but I didnt twig what was going on until the plane started moving backwards, and then the exhaust smoke started going towards the propellor!! I didnt actually realise it was possible for this to happen at all, surely these little model engines only go 1 way round

Having seen Jims spitfire up close the other day, I have to say, I'm really looking forward to seeing it fly, it looks awsome already. If you want help weathering it jim, your welcome to tie it to the back of my car when I'm on call-outs I'll drag it around Surrey for a few days to weather it up real nice for you Seriously though, if you ever need a spare pair of hands, lemme know, I'd love to learn something new

    Tidy Fuelling

That sounds like a plan.... Will have to see it though, not sure what one of those valves looks like in the flesh... You are referring the the one gerard was mentioning?

    Tidy Fuelling

haaa, bummer... Its not so much a filter I wanted, just a way to connect flightbox to plane, securely, without all the mess.... I dont actually want anything between the tank and the engine at all.... Like you say, keep it simple..

    Tidy Fuelling

Hi Jim Thanks mate, I'll do my best to get over there, but it will be later in the day as I still havent fixed my plane yet... Awaiting undercarraige still, and need to figure how to attach tailwheel so that the rubber can steer it as the elavator horn (wow, gettin the lingo) is in the way... So if I do get over there, it might not be until around 2pm+

    Tidy Fuelling

ahh, no, I was looking for a tidy wat physically connect the flightbox to the plane, kind of like in the formula 1 way almost, but small scale... Refuelling, without spillages and getting it all over my hands

Hi Peter Do you mean something like this: http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/sh ... sp?id=5180 I think those still need the fuel tube from your flight box connected/disconnected to/from it yaa?

    Tidy Fuelling

Thanks Jim, I wasnt too sure about the size, it did sound like a seriously tight fit...
