Spoke (posted?) too soon, had complete radio failure and resulting failsafe coming out of a loop today. Some of it came home in a bag, the rest went on the fire

And at long last, it's seen another sortie. Dusted off the cobwebs, charged the batteries and filled up with the very best tesco unleaded for a few new years eve flights. I must admit I had forgotten how nicely this flies. Not a 3D machine by any measure but what feels to me like a scale aerobat. The engine still has less than 2hrs running from new so it's on the 33:1 mixture and driving the run in prop (18x8). I feel more confident with it now, I need to fly it a lot more, fine tune the mixture and then move up to the 20" prop Who knows, I might even get around to fitting th

I have my combat wing ready to go, the only thing is that I might have to work

I thought something had gone wrong. What's Joe doing with some little profile kits I was thinking. Then I realised that's a bl**dy great dining table they're on
-
I've done a couple of quick edits. First is Ali & Dave flying the Citation and Hawk The second is Dennis and the full size heli disaply I'll bring my laptop with me to club night with the HD versions for people to see.

Guys, Have trimmed a few replies, see the post in the members section.

RCMF are going to have a presence at the show and we're getting some prime position advertising
-
Looks nice Joe, couldn't you find anything a bit bigger
-
You'll need to speak to Roger & Jim about this. Best to give Roger a call.

Oh no, I feel a complete failure of wallet self control coming on I was wondering what to fit that spare MVVS 26cc petrol motor into.
-
Why not bring it all to club night and we'll have a look

Martin, Is it the standard Align ESC? If it is then it'll probably be OK as it is. Do you have the instructions as they can be programmed with soft start, govenor settings etc. The way I approach any electric model (heli or aircraft) is to set the TX to the default settings and then connect all servos except the ESC/Motor. I then use a spare rx battery/switch plugged into the RX so I can check out throws, reversing etc without any fear of the motor spooling up. Once that's done I connect and setup the ESC/Motor. Most ESC's recognise if you switch on with high stick so you shoul

Not meant to make you feel guilty, honest

What makes you think you can spectate? Didn't you see the small print on the club membership form that said you agreed to work your socks off for 2 days minimum at the show? Quite a lot of club members come and work and some just spectate, but there is no concession for club members. The hop farm staff man the gate and it's just too complicated. Anyway, it's fantastic value for money at full price

'our' one - he with the blue landrover

Andy, Speak to Brian Taylor, he produces his own kits with foam wings. I'm sure he'll be able to set you straight.

The guys at YT have asked that they see the content of our feedback reviews before being made public, therefore I've moved the posts made so far to the CAMFC members section. Once they've been completed and fed back to YT, then I'll move the posts back to the public part of the forum. Please bear in mind when posting any comments on these kits that we are doing this with YT and their wishes are to be respected. Thanks

Couldn't agree more, I think it's replacing the Wot4 as the one plane that everyone should have in their hangar. I was so shocked at the ease at which you can flat spin it, I could stop myself
-
Andy, you bringing it to the field today?
-
There's nothing wrong with pink - honest I went through a phase where all my planes were covered in a sort of purple and white - a sort of fleet scheme. They collectively became known at the field as 'the gay planes'. I've abandoned that idea now

The new website is now live, many thanks to Paul for organising this and the others who have contributed too. CAMFC site and the forum next I'll start another thread in the members section to collect ideas from you all and please continue to post feedback and suggestions in the SMAS site preview thread. I've posted on RCMF that the site has been updated, please do likewise on any forums you hang out on and spread the word.

I actually quite like the look of the white one (ala Airsail pic above), but I guess a cammo version is what is to be expected. I'm thinking with all that glass I'm going to have to do a half decent job on the cockpit so a visit to Duxford with my camera might be in order

Found myself drawn to a 1/4 scale Airsail Auster kit being sold after being donated to a Childrens Hospice I must admit at first I though it was 6ft span one, only later realised it was the 10ft span one Oh well, I have an MVVS 26cc petrol motor going unused at the mo. But as it took me 18months to build a Wot4, don't expect to see it flying any time soon. Any one have any ideas for interesting scale colour schemes?
