  1. I'd assume to find out when they are shooting, but then again they don't really adhere to that anyway
  2. Sorry I didn't mean it as a joke! I did see the aileron fully deflected... I wonder if that would honestly still "fly" if even keep level whilst descending? Certainly aerodynamically they are pushing it! Surely with the loss of most of the lift on the wing and the massive aerodynamic drag the thing would just fall out of the sky? Not to mention all the severed hydraulic lines and controls, on the wing and the fuel flowing (or flowed) out of the wing. Goes to show that aircraft can surprise, especially when this quote "It was susceptible to flak because of its overloaded wing and cou
  3. Agreed well done Sam and Matt Now for the A!
  4. Still nothing about a report into the cause of the failure... In other news did anyone hear about the Italian EF2000 that went it during an airshow a month or so ago, the Spanish EF2000 that went in with no cause during straight and level flight whilst in formation, and then a week later another Spanish jet, an F/A - 18E/F that went it during takeoff? All three pilots were killed and they all made no attempt to eject from the aircraft...
  5. Ta very much Ivan, I believe we can buy waterproof spray for about £15, but then again all the other tables are on their last legs (If you'll excuse the pun ) and it may be a waste waterproofing them. Of course if the trailer goes up to the field we could always buy/ obtain some trestle tables and store them in there. Or seeing as the frames of the current tables are OK we could make new tops ourselves..... B
  6. A good landing is one you can walk way from, a great landing is one where you can use the plane again
  7. Cheers Ivan! Vid's look really good. Perhaps you could stream onto the facebook page in case rich isn't available? B

    OS MAX 35AX

Right so me being an idiot what effect will raising the nitro content have as regards to the engine etc? Would I need to swap back for summer or can I use 10% alll year round? Would I use 10 for all my engines? Thanks Dave B

Hi All I've got a 35 strapped to the front of my beloved cougar ATM, and all is going well which is surprising considering it's me, apart from the power I'm getting from it. My last cougar had a 36 and ran an 11x3 prop and could prop hang at 1/2 throttle, and my current cougar also has an 11x3, but yet I'm prophanging at full throttle with no reserve power. I don't think the engine is too small as I've seen the 35 pull up quite a few funfly planes vertically yet mine won't really go vertical at all. Any suggestions as to what prop to go to? I considered a 12 but I don't want to over
  11. Sorry I meant air france chose a bodge job to stick to their planes!
  12. So it's a bode job by Air France a bit like trying to stick a prop collet adapter to an IC engine
  13. I wonder if this is the same as the Qantas A380 mishap a few years back? Looks to me like a complete failure of the front of the engine assembly, with the turbine blades literally falling off with an "infinite" amount of energy, taking the cowl with them in multiple pieces, damaging the engine nacelle and taking the front off the pylon.... Not good especially with all the '380's in service ATM... http://news.sky.com/story/air-france-a380-suffers-serious-engine-damage-after-tremendous-bang-11062375 And... Not good when the engines are "meant"
  14. Don't know if anyone has seen this but I thought it's worth sharing! B
  15. That's a fair point Dave but look at leccy cars.. When they first came out you could drive 20 yards in them and the latest Tesla model can do just over 300 miles! Wait and see maybe they will invent a bigger lighter battery although it is some way off as to get something that big and with that high voltage it will be a challenge, but hey wait and see...
  16. It's been around for over a year now but I thought I'd bring it to the attention of anyone who hasn't seen it. Thoughts? Does anyone know of any advances? B
  17. And as the Tucano is meant to be so fast it calls for HS645MG's all round at £30 a pop!!! The only problem I have about flying is that at the end of the day I am a kid playing an adults game but that won't stop me see you on suday b
  18. It's not that I don't want it. I do! It's a brilliant model but to be brutally honest Shane it would genuinely cost at least £900 as the kit is £300, engine is £300, servos £120, retracts £100 plus the stuff like rx battery switch etc etc... And that's just too much for a 5kg model let alone what my budget can afford. I've decided to combine my need for speed and a new heavy winter plane by getting either an Acro Wot XL or Wot 4 XL and putting a mahusive engine in the front Come New Year time watch this space! You are remembering its 3rd Sunday? B
  19. One of the best things to see on Wednesday! I'd be careful with hobbyking extension leads though I've had lots of problems with them so now don't use them. The best ones are from T9 they are twisted servo leads. Brilliant and strong and yet fairly cheap to buy. I think I'm going to have to wait till Christmas now before I buy my next plane. Due to some reasons I won't be getting the Tucano but I will say it'll be as quick but yet much much cheaper! Are you going up on Sunday? B
  20. Honestly I'd love a nice big turbine powered Blackburn Bucaneer S.2B in the standard RAF camo.... I think I'll try designing an EDF powered one at some point!
  21. I like the F22 next to it
  22. Wow Shane looks like when I get hold of my savings book And now I know where all the X6R receivers that T9 have gone!!!!!
  23. Right thanks Dave lots of food for thought. So 710 is too many watts I gather! I was hoping to fly it at CAMFC but then move it to Sevenoaks for the speed demon. I went for the low KV in the hope that it would reduce noise? I didn't really plan on flying at the speed of sound all the time, just flying around at a decent speed but well below triple figures and then occasionally go from one far side of the field to the other at full chat. I was hovering between 2200mah and 1300mah but decided one 1300mah for weight. Are there any motors you can suggest that run on
