  1. OOnly 3/4 cell lipos and 4/5 cell rx batteries. I do like the fusion charger
  2. Hi All, I need to get a proper field charger for my rx batteries and lipos too and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction as regards to charger and battery? Or maybe share their setup? I understand the battery I need is a standard car battery that I could pick up from a garage for £10 or so? I think this can be topped up once a month? I still use an £8 hobbyking lipo charger so I don't really know much about this topic B I also don't know if there is a charger that can charge rx battery and lipos or if I need to get two separate chargers for eac
  3. And it balanced puuurfectly first fime I cant tell you how long it took me to put the gear in But, its done and read to go, at long last, the biggest challenge ever to put a switch in a plane!!!!! B
  4. Tadaaaaaaa Elevator and rudder aren't connected and there is no radio, but so far so good. I'll be running the engine tommorrow to see if the props are ok
  5. My wing is long gone, but there is a powered tek sumo wing in Scotland that I built when I was last up there Do you mean that I should take the prop off and soar that for practice? Talk how?
  6. Thanks Martin I'll take a peek at the slipstream then! There are hundreds of gliders up there, most are built up like an ASK23 type, but quite a few are flying wing type, so I'll take a look at them too B
  7. Hi All, In the next month I'll be going to Scotland and I'll be refurbishing one of the old gliders in the grandparents' loft. I have flown some gliders at our field, but have never soared off a cliff! I think I'll be ok getting up and once I'm up there, but how do I get down? I have seen that you fly along the hill with flaps and air brakes and then just sort of dump it in? Is this in any way correct? B
  8. An amazing plane flown by an amazing pilot and built by a highly skilled man . Some great pics in rcme
  9. As you all say, ic just has a buzz to it! Dont get me wrong though, I LOVE my foame and for cold first flights of the day, its perfect, but I do just prefer ic, the noise, starting and tinkering makes it all worth it B
  10. I did think about getting a li-fe but I didn't really consider it, as I'll have to take it out of plane to charge it as I can't charge it through the switch. Also I would really pack the batt in as I need to shoehorn the gear into it, so it would be impractical to take it apart every time it needed a charge. I may be at the field with the foamie this Sunday bit we'll see!!! B
  11. Yeah I saw that and gave up and ordered from wheelspin instead
  12. Cast is off!!!!! Get the cougar built and away I go
  13. the s3001's make 3.2kg so I may be alright.....
  14. Well my "last" cougar had 322's all round and it ran on 4.8v. If it was a bit faster I would upgrade but because I'm using it at slower speeds, I should think it'll be fine...
  15. So... I cant fit a 5cell/6v battery in no matter what shape humped/flat/square so I've gone for a 4.8v 2500mah instead. At 6v my HS322HD servos in the wing produce 3.7kg of torque, and at 4.8v they produce only 3. I think this will be enough as there's two of them? Will it be enough? At 4.8v the 645's make 8kg so no issues there ! B
  16. tray is for lipo. I can't really be bothered with dremmeling the edges away... I think a 4.8v will be fine for it so for the hassle I'm going to leave it a is.
  17. ive tried it doesn't fit by about half a cm because of the formers that stick out of the fuz sides...
  18. No it's a humped pack I tried to fit in!!! I ended up putting the switch at the back by the servos, and i also got 2 HS645MG servos for rudder and elevator, as per last cougar. On 4.8v hs322 won't cope with the rudder and there was a 2 servo deal on at servoshop so I got 2. I'm still using hs322 for the ailerons. All this faff because Weston put a tray in the fuz for all them leccy people B
  19. Gaaaah! I'm struggling to fit all the radio in to the fuz it's so small! I wanted to use a 2500 6v but it won't fit, so I have to use a 2600 4.8v instead Tail hooked up, cougar almost done
  20. SO FAR LECCY HAS ONLY 1 VOTE, IC HAS 3....
  21. I think I'll give it a go and if that doesn't work I'll just put a 11x3 which is an inch down from the other. If OS say it'll work, it might work ! As you say, if the engine is happy with it then that should be good!!! B
  22. Just thought I'd ask! Vote for your favourite power method! There's been alot of chat about this and I thought id see what everyone else thinks! B
