  1. Her Klunk, My piece of paper..........sorry manual says C of G should be 125mm-145mm from wing root. I am presuming it means from my red circle to my green circle as per this picture. I have just finished my one off & the C of G is 140mm ready to fly, just need to fuel her up, I might give it a bash this weekend, then again I might not. Will see how the weather goes. Joe if you read this, are you around this weekend if the weather is good?
  2. I saw something similar but a quite a bit smaller in a copy of RC Flyer, where is a link http://www.flyingtoys.co.uk/cybird.html The advert makes it look like a girly toy
  3. I have also read this, with people putting the C of G as far back as 150mm. Would this make to a bit more inclined to induce a roll on hard back elevator at slow speed?
  4. I LOVE WWII PLANES HONEST Anyway after saying I was not going to fly the Electric Extra I did. First flight gave me the confidence in her, with 70g of added weight up front I took off along the runway, as she lift I thought the tail fells a bit sensitive so I went straight into a low short right had circuit & done a nice landing, after the landing I found that I had been flying on full rates which is 45° travel on the control surfaces. On the second take off I found with rates on I could not keep the tail down on power up, so it was back to full rates to take off then as soon a
  5. Just got back form the Raptor V3 maiden flight & all was well until 3 minutes in & the carb lever broke at 3/4 stick, it could of been very dangerous had I not been running the engine in, luckily because the engine was very rich the revs started to decrease above 2/3 throttle. Anyway the engine started instantly on the first spin of the starter & I walked the model out to the field, unfortunately the bottom stick was a bit too low & the engine cut. When I tried to start the engine again it would not start, so I checked the fuel pipe & went back to the base settings on
  6. Joe, it will be me, DeadstickDave & the rest of the CAMFC lot...........one big convoy
  7. Is that the fastet into a tree or fastest into the ground, I think Joes holds the fastest into the ground record though I could be wrong
  8. Looking good Joe, but I have never been a fan of the German WWII aircraft, but if it goes like Jimboy's Spitfire, who cares what it looks like I am hoping my kit building for the year is done, I think I need a holiday for while. I came home today & really wanted to fly my new Raptor & the Prangster, but instead continued with the Exta 300 build. I was watching TV whilst doing the servos & linkage set-up, I will need to take a trip to Avicraft at some point to get some bits.
  9. T-rex is looking good darren, I have ordered mine nut with the amount of builds I am doing at the moment I don't think I will have time to build mine. Is yours a V2? The beauty of the micro heli is that you don't need a calm day to fly if you have a large garage or access to a hall.
  10. Ladies & Gentlemen I bring you this lovely bit of kit: http://ttp://www.extremeflightrc.com/production/video/extra_300_elec_arf/extra_elec_wmv_lg.wmv I have heard lots of good things about this kit & had been looking to get for a few months now. When I received it & opened the box I was a bit surprised at the lack of wood under the covering of the plane. As you can sell it is a very skinny matchstick like frame & very, very, very light in weight. The build is amazing, every thing fits together mm perfect, no slop, no messing around. The instructions tha
  11. Been working on the Titan this week too. I got the epoxy out & mounted the Throttle Jockey magnets, Exhaust, Battery Monitor & tail control rod ends. After remounting the engine with exhaust & Throttle Jockey sensor fitted to the helicopter, I wiped out the fuel tank to check the clearance of the magnets on the fans & all was alright. . Now during the week the deliveries had been coming in thick & fast, so with all the bits ready it was time for the standard head to come off & on with the Quick UK goodies. While I was at it I thought now would be a good time
  12. OK I have been meaning to post the build & pics so here it is Building the Magnum Well after seeing this fly I just had to have one, it has always been a life long ambition to be a fast jet pilot & this is about as close as I am going to get. The kit is straight forward as it is an ARTF & the fuselage is pre-assembled & covered along with the one piece wing, 2 rear elevator & rudder fin. The first thing I did was assemble the fuel tank, which was straight forward until I mounted the engine into the pre-drilled & fitted engine mount & tightened the se
  13. I am presuming you are sticking the motor mount with some epoxy? UHU POR works well with depron but it does not go solid as it dries to some sort of stretchy rubber.

  15. I just reciceved a super light Extra 300, around the size of a .15-.20 engined plane. It is really light & would probably fly like a shocky,it is running a 2818 brushless motor on a 3S li-po set-up. Here is a vid from the makers http://www.extremeflightrc.com/production/video/extra_300_elec_arf/extra_elec_wmv_lg.wmv

  17. Darren I am green with envy, I was just getting over the fact that I could not get hold of the SEV2 at Sandown & then you have to go & post this LOL........................I am going to have to go back into therapy LOL. The little monster is looking great Darren, & yeah Finless Bobs are very good for references & set-up techniques. Stephan, I do have an Align carrying case, it is smaller than the Zoom 400 case & holds more (batteries, TX, heli, tools, spares). The downside is it cost around £10-£20 more than the larger Zoom 400 case & has the old Align "Conqu
  18. There are a lot of factors I need to take account before my maiden flight, like my nerves, the weather & other people. I want to fly this thing with just me & an experienced flyer/spotter (like your self Joe) the all the factors have to be spot on. If I wake up the morning of my planed flight & do something silly like eat toast instead of cereal it is a no go. But seriously it will be a few months before I fell I will be ready for the maiden flight, even the sky has to be blue, wind under 5Mph & blowing at 221°......oh & the most important, it must be just after payd
  19. I got a Hudy turnbuckle tool But I was to lazy to use it, I think it is similar to your control rod building tool. As for the CA, it was only applied were the manual stated, that was mainly around the head, servo & control ball joints. I did not use any CA on the frame as I believe the white inserts that the frame screw to are of a softer gripper plastic that the rest of the harder black plastic frame & head. I should also mention that the CA is only needed on the self tapping style screw & not the machined type screws into the plastic
  20. I understand they lose elevator with speed (i.e. nose dive on the power & you ain't pulling out in a hurry)...........................Splat at 200mph into the ground. I think I may have to look for a large flat area for its maiden flight as there is just to many trees at Fickleshole to try & dodge at high speed
  21. I saw this plane at Sandown & instintly fell in love with it. It scares me it less! Plus the other 2 kits I wanted was not at Sandown so you know what it is like when you are in a hall full of kits WHAT THIS SPACE............................I have already built it (not a lot to build) so write up to follow.
  22. I will post some pics and the other part of this write up once I receive the rest of the parts required to finish this heli & I have given my other Raptor it's farewell flight (which could be sometime with the way the weather is at the moment)
  23. It is late I am tired if there is any grammer mistakes in this review PM me & I will edit. LEON Raptor 50 V3 Titan.......The build OK this is the first Raptor I have built form scratch, I have stripped & rebuilt helis, including my current Raptor, but this is the first new kit I have assembled. I started building the moment I got home with the kit (no messing), I liked the way each section in the manual had its own bag to open & build. I built most of the heli in around 4-5 hours, the last hour was watching TV & building the control rods, dam they make your fingers sor
  24. you seem to make something new every week, what happens to the older planes that you have made, do you have a massive hanger (room) stashed with planes. A new name for I think "Professor Dre & his flying machines"
  25. Thats the talent & skill I wished I had building a plane from scratch. The plane is looking really good. Good luck with the project, I am sure your CAP will fly great.
