I am glad the pictures came out OK and that you had a very nice & might I say impressive first flight. I like the touch down pic, it clearly shows you need a bit more up elevator. As always the OS always provides more than enough power for the job. Did you settle on the 90° exhaust converter and the PBOX silencer? Because the sound was very smooth.

I did ask the question a few weeks back but I am not sure what the state of play is. Can anyone shed any light on the situation?

Who needs a forum, we should have an ask Steve section I agree with what steve said One think to note is if your battery is rated at 8C then it can only deliver 6.4 Amps max and I would personally not push it more than 5 Amps to be on the safe side.

Darren, My AX came with some wire and a collar, I now know what it is for

The time is nah. I am going to buy some new boxershorts today in preperation for the first flight. I am going to strap engine and fuel tank in today and do the throttle linkage. Then she will be ready

Well said my son I selected number 3, so does that mean you are my date? PS. Call me Magneto

Joe your a bas$%£%d, since my last post I have been researching power systems on the electric Yak and now I am think of doing some conversions on the Extra. Wait to I see ya
-
You already know what quality to expect, you better start reading the manual then. Just teasing as there is not a video available yet. They are going to release an electric version of the 74" and there is already an electric 47" which is 2" wider then the extra I have. I think I have an excuse of getting rid of my extra now as I always wondered what a Yak flu like

I voted glow as I have played with 2 strokes (23CC Zenoha's) before (in 1/5th Cars) and they can be a pain at times to get started compared to a nitro. I like the lazy electric hand start and the need not to mix petrol with 2 stoke. But like every thing there are pros and cons for each. But I do have green eyes over your large scale aircraft. Shame I drive a car

Sounds like a plan to me! Cheers Joe

Joe, I just need to do my aileron linkage and mount fuel tank and engine the she is complete. With regards to the aileron linkage is there any change of a photo of yours (or even Stephens if he still has servos/linkage in his one). The only reason I ask is that with the servo in place the linkage rod runs at a slight angle to the pre cut slot in the wing. This makes the aileron linkage from the front of the wing run outwards towards the rear of the wing at a sort of angle. I will try to link a picture tomorrow to show you what I mean,

I will get some pics of my one and do a brief write up, even though there is not much building involved in them. I found out today that I am working this weekend so I think we should set a target for Sunday the 12th November providing the weather is good and the time scale is good for everyone else, I will try and run my engine in on the Saturday so it will be ready for the Sunday.

It is coming one very well. What I normally do with the tail section is measure it and square it with the main wing in place and cut the covering while it is in place, but your method is probably better. I like the Hype and Cougar, I am not sure what the differences are, but both are lovely planes. From the picture on the box I take it the Cougar is a high wing 3D plane and the Hype a low or mid wing 3D plane?

I know there is a few days to go, but the early reports are looking good, the weekend weather is looking perfect. People going down on Wednesday and Thursday go prepered in case it does rain a little. I will be down there form Thursday onwards.

Ba$~@%^d!, I had my eye on that Bi wing Prangster LOL! I suppose with it stairing at you all day you could not resisit. That is the only bad thing about working in a shop of intrest, it is like when I worked in a car accerssory shop, I had a the loudest banging, blinging SRI in town. So how did the day of work go?
-
Yeah I have ssen the pics, but they are around 5 years out of date, my Dads House over in Thornton Heath shows he really old Transit and the house extension still being worked on. Don't know if you have noticed but the tree in the pits no longer has leafs on it in the summer.
