Nice one Arun. Looks like a great model and may all your landings with it be soft ones!
  2. Latest RCM&E magazine has a review of the Taranis which gives a good all round description of the Tx and its capabilities.
  3. Beautiful Trevor, lovely job as always. It must look fantastic in the air.
  4. I discovered I need a new motor shaft for the Wot 4 after my escapades in the Funly last week. I found that Wheelspin supply them for a reasonable price and have ordered two to make the delivery charge more palatable. http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/175434/ I must have got the last ones as they are reading out of stock at present. Worthwhile having as a reference for the future when back in stock.
  5. Very nice. Look forward to seeing it at the field William.
  6. Beautiful photos. There are at least three interesting programmes on the BBC Iplayer regarding the memorial remembrance of the Dams raid:- http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01sjtzt/The_Dambusters_70_Years_On/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01skvn1/The_One_Show_17_05_2013/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0175nh1/Timewatch_Dam_Busters_The_Race_to_Smash_the_German_Dams/ I was well aware of all the details of Barnes Wallis and the bouncing bomb but still learned a thing or two from the programmes. Well worth a look if you are interested.
  7. I will be really interested to see your new model Peter. The Hunter is my favorite of the early jet fighters. I've always hankered a wish to have an RC model of it one day. May never happen but it's a nice idea to carry around!
  8. Thanks Arun and Shane. I downloaded the files. It is great to be able to fly around our own field in the simulator even if the scene brightness and distance orientation are not perfect. It will still be very useful for anyone practicing their controls co-ordination and landing approaches with different weather settings. Try the Hangar 9 The Beast on a gusty day weather setting
  9. Thanks for all your efforts Shane. I'll have a look in the near future and download the files. It would be great to have a go at flying on our field within Phoenix.
  10. Very sorry to hear you are parking your wings for the foreseeable future, Gary. Hope you feel better soon.
  11. ABC engines require a different "break-in" routine than ringed engines. There are many web pages on how to break one in. The following is as good as any: http://www.mecoa.com/faq/breakin/breakin_abc.htm
  12. Welcome Shane. Nice model. See you at the field when the weather is co-operative.
  13. Got mine from Robotbirds for £42.00 delivered. Also checked with them that all units they sell are mode 2, just in case!
  14. Got one before Christmas and have been flying it indoors over the break. Haven't had any significant problems with it so far but it is tending to drift a bit. Thought it was just me or unequal prop wear and tear. I will try the calibration routine and see if it makes any difference. Just calibrated the controls using the second method above (Expert mode) which worked fine. One thing - make sure you have all the trims at neutral before you calibrate, otherwise you get some interesting results! My one seems to be a bit more stable now but still drifts a bit. I assume this is due
  15. A further update with some video http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20886684
  16. Will have a look this evening. Thanks Alan. Hope everyone has a hassle free, fun Christmas Day.
  17. Jonathan, Hope to see you at the field as often as you can make it. Keep the models charged and ready to go! Have a good Christmas with hopefully some RC presents.
  18. Sorry guys, am still at work. Would be there if I could.
  19. Sounds good to me. I'd fancy going to have a look see how the non powered flyers conduct their flights. If such a day out could be on a gun club Sunday, then even better!
  20. Welcome Mike, Looking forward to seeing you at the field. The adventure is just beginning........
  21. Nice one Trevor. Will you be able to bring it to the field after you get it?
  22. Just another thought to add. If you are not filling the tank via the carburetor feed tube, make sure the carburetor is shut when filling the tank i.e. throttle setting is at idle. This minimises the chance of fuel flooding the carburetor unless you pressurise the tank in some way during the filling process.
