a pair of spectacles were discovered at the end of club night on 29th May. The owner may recover them from the Portcullis club. The club is normally opened by the RAAFA for the veterans on Sunday afternoons, approx 12 - 5pm. The veterans this weekend, however, are all in Normandy and the club may be closed. Oily

Welcome Cabbie. please keep your wits about you if you are flying on your own. There are dog walkers and kids from the estate across the way. The majority are nice people, but there is always exceptions to the rule! Just don,t leave yourself exposed while you are flying, and have your mobile where you can get to it, in case of any unfortunate event! Please make sure you close the gate behind you. Good luck, TTFn, Oily

still got it Jan! If you want one without radio and engines for £65, i can do that too! Pictures on request. Thanks for enquiry Oily.

Sorry folks, Due to the inclement weather, the interclub fun fly and BBQ planned for today has had to be postponed until a later date to be announced. Please accept the organisers sincere apologies. Sunday May 11th 2014. Seems like the bad weather is getting too us again!

Air display at Biggin Hill Aerdrome 2014
Peter Royall replied to Peter Royall's topic in General chitchat
Thanks Dave, Just to be clear, ANY flying display at Biggin Hill grounds us for the period of the display. NO GREY AREA! Might also point out that before and after the display day, there may be aircraft arriving, practicing and departing, so a vigilant watch is required, and model flying "Solo" is to be discouraged. Sorry to be a bore, but as usual common sense rules, and CAP 658 applies. On the "UP" side, bring a picnic and a comfy chair to the field and enjoy the show! Thankyou, Your Chairman Oily -
The committee had considered the Club attending this new display, providing a static show of our models and promoting the club to spectators. The pitch was applied for, but there was some confusion as we were to be considered as a "trade Stand" thereby attracting a considerable sum as rental for the pitch. Having pointed out the mistake, we were directed to the Sevenoaks club, who were supposed to be arranging the model "flying" ? It would appear that the Sevenoaks club are not interested (allegedly), and we were directed to the Caterham Club. Same response! CAMFC then, will sit on the sid

bump! Still for sale.

nice to know the fusion went well, and the patch was not "abandoned". It was extremely cold, especially when the raincloud began to move in! TTFn, Oily (sent by prodding the keys on the laptop)

Suprised to find Roger all on his own at the patch when I arrived today! 2pm. Are you all sick? I hope not. It was a bit windy, but i managed a flight with the Foamie wot 4 which was a bit exiting, and Roger had a good flight with his Spitfire, which was rolling without using the ailerons!! At least he got a flight for his 88 mile drive! (or double that if you include going back again!) Anon, TTFn Oily

Great, well done! Now i have to learn Hungarian Look forward to welcoming you to the Club. Oily

Steve Bishop of Bishop Aviation has not been asked to run the flightline at Southern Model Show for the 2014 Show. Neither has Croydon Airport MFC been invited to attend, to date. Thankyou for your interest, Peter Royall, CAMFC Chair.

Roger has written a short history of the Southern Model Airshow, which now appears on the Website front page, under the heading "SMAS History". Please note that it is not intended to be a "book", with every last detail, it is just a brief history. Please take a look at your convenience, Thankyou, Peter Royall.

still stuck with version 1 oily -
Please use caution when accessing and leaving the flying site. The recent heavy and constant rain has likely made the surface difficult to traverse with any safety, and should be approached with extreme care by individuals. Thankyou, Oily

Please note: Members that have not yet renewed their Club membership for 2014 should be aware that their Insurance to fly r/c models has expired, as from 31st December 2013. Unlike club membership, with the insurance, there is no "grey area", if the secretary, or any committee member, is not in posession of the renewal fee, Insurance to fly anywhere is invalid. That is all, Oily
