  9. Hi Fella,s and Lady, Just thought it might be nice to see a few Scale warbirds at the field for Rememberance Sunday on the 10th. Maybe a slot of warbirds together, like we did last year, would be nice ? All depends on the weather, of course! TTFn, Oily
  10. postage for lipo's has got tricky since a couple of cargo planes have been lost through lipo fires. Sometimes you could get free postage from the factory in China, but its all been stopped now, especially over the 3000 sizes. I see HK have just opened a UK store, maybe check their prices Martin? Let us know what you find please. TTFn, Oily
  11. Thanks Steve, let me speak to the committee first, we may not need to rush out and buy something yet, we still have X2 marquees that we can use that are more or less complete (maybe an end missing for the smaller one). One of the big ones has a roof, but some other bits missing, we maybe can manage with just the roof for the time being, if we need it at all? Just depends what we get up to next year i guess. I hope you are feeling a bit better than you were? Best wishes, Peter.
  12. don,t think so Steve, But, we could use one end and the sides of yours if you have to get another one!! Oily,

  15. Hullo! Thankyou for visiting this website for Southern Model Airshow. Please note, however, that this Show is no longer being staged by the Croydon Airport Model Flying Club. Nor has any Club Member or Committee Member, have any interest, or involvement in the Organisation, physically or financially, with this Show or any other Show, bearing a similar title. Having been unable to stage the Southern Model Airshow, arranged to take place at the Hop Farm in September 2012, due to circumstances beyond our control, Croydon Airport Model Flying Club decided it was time to call it a d

  17. HaHa!, Will see what is in the catalogue for you, anybody else desire such an item? Oily,
  18. Arun, thanks for the suggestion, which i will put before the committee. Truth is, if anyone wants to be bothered to go to our supplier, they can buy any item in the catalogue with the clubs logo on it if they hand over an order from the club, and the cash. There is also normally quite a large fee for setting up the logo design when you go to different suppliers, they are reluctant to hand them over ad lib. There would be no bulk discount of course, which we may be able to pass onto members when we place a bulk order. Personally, i would be reluctant to order on line, when i havent h
  19. Bravedan, do you mean a jacket/windcheater with a fleece lining that unzips? Is there such a thing? Answer on a stamped addressed lorry please, TTFn, Oily
  20. The committee are to explore the possibility of obtaining a new order of club clothing. This will be discussed at the next committee meeting, so watch out for more details on here, and in the newsletter. It is not proposed at this stage, to hold stocks, but to place an order, based on the members requirements. Some members attire is now becoming faded, we are told, and they would like to replace with a new item. Some newer members have non at all, and may wish to buy into some. Please watch this space! 21. Just about sums it up Trevor, thankyou for your observations. The Sunday weather was dissapointing, although the rain held off until about 3.30pm. The flying programme was halted at 2pm for the same reason, although Steve Bishop allowed pilots to continue with "flying off the peg", while conditions allowed. Although the CAMFC Bring and Buy stall had been moved to the Bar Marquee at the last moment, and had to share the space with the DJ and the customers, Bob and Andre managed to make a success of it. It was unfortunate that on the busiest day on the stall, Saturday, there where n
  22. Yes, strange that, not winning the Shuttleworth trophy that is. I can assure everybody that in my opinion, the winner was not in the same class. But then, I wasnt party to the voting. Good weekend overall, though. Oily.
  23. Impressive Arun, charging one at a time is boring! Oily
  24. No worries, its just wood and glue! Just trace your parts onto your wood, cut it out with a stanley knife (other makes are available)! And glue it together, piece by piece. The parts can be held together with elastic bands or masking tape while the glue sets. PM me your address, and i can post you the drawings, or if you want to meet at the field on some pre arranged time and day? TTFn Oily
