  1. Frank Hawke was a co - founder member of CAMFC back in 1977/8, in fact the very person who uttered "we should form a club" which was in order to square things with the Council. Sadly, Frank passed away on Saturday 30th May 2015. Personally, I had never met the man, but others have spoken of him highly. I met his son Richard, also a founder member of CAMFC, at the Crawley indoor meeting earlier this year. To those of you that may wish to be present at Franks funeral, there follows details of the event. I am requesting to the clubs treasurer that the Club makes a
  2. Martin, I left a tatty foamy fuz for you with Rod on Sunday. Its been repaired a few times, but I wondered if you could use it? I don't want anything for it. It has a claim to fame as from the "RC model flyer" magazine review model. That is all, Oily
  3. replacing the carbon tube without ruining the fus would be next to impossible in my opinion. I have cut up several now, and the carbon tube is well fixed! If all else fails, a new fus is available from Ripmax for around £30. Also, it is near Wings and Wheels time, and there is no telling what I shall return with! The Cynao should work, along with the epoxy for the foam. Good luck Oily

    wanted

    Just use less throttle John
  5. The motor was not running during the test, as for some reason yet to be discovered, it wouldn't run at all. All other channels working "normally" ! Why? Peter
  6. After the failed range flight, I spoke to a couple of people, took everything home and started again. This time I followed the binding instructions to the letter, on both sets of instructions, and adjusted the aerial wires positions. Out the back on the green, I put the wonky wot 4 foamie on a chair, and distanced myself from the model with the transmitter. At 50yds (thats old money), I was still getting full control over the radio. As 30meters (new money) was the suggested test distance, my guess is, it will be OK to repeat the flight test, with a reasonable ch
  7. Be aware, this is not a business, its a club! If you don't understand what a club is, its not a Business, look up the word club in the dictionary. As we are NOT A BUSINESS, we do NOT buy anything. Sending us false requests for payment for dodgy invoices is therefore a waste of time for you, and for us. All such emails are reported as SPAM , and deleted instantly! The Management.
  8. I got one of these for my birthday last year! Has anyone fitted a brushed motor and ESC, as i have an abundance of these laying around. Just wondered how to fit, as it would probably involve a redundant motor mount reinforcer. As there are no instructions come with it, the pictures on this thread are very helpful, thanks. TTFn, Oily
  9. [bWhat!!!? Glad I still have all my 35meg stuff ! TTFn Oily ][/b]
  10. Great pictures James, thankyou! Oily
  11. grumman unsold and listing ended by seller. so not sold yet. Bit expensive if you ask me, and the postage from the states would be a bit hefty, then there's the vat and import duty......................!
  12. OK! where does one purchase a freesky receiver please? Then i might just revert back to freeflight, or a Challenger 5 with a Junior 60 ! Oily
  13. An old frame tent, bit ragged, but good for storing models in when at shows etc. Free to the collector. Located in Wimbledon, SW19. Size approx 6ft X 8ft X 6ft H. Oily
  14. Interested with the cougar, still available? Oily
  15. The Portcullis Club will NOT be open this evening for clubnight. We despatched that event at Fickleshole on the 27th with the family BBQ. Last year we tried both events, but only 6 people turned up at Kenley, making the exercise a bit of a waste of time for the bars volunteers. Not going to repeat. Sorry if any inconvenience, Regards, Oily
  16. Model pilots using Fickleshole today should be aware that there is likely to be Full size aircraft practising and arriving for the full size show at Biggin Hill tomorrow. KEEP A GOOD LOOKOUT WHILE FLYING, AND GIVE WAY TO FULL SIZE WITHOUT EXCEPTION, Thankyou, Peter Royall, Chairman.
  17. Peter Royall

    Props for OS 55AX

I run 11 x 7 on an evolution 53. Bigger props have ground clearance issues. Would be careful not to much throttle when motor cold or running in. Mine is flying a Horizon Saratoga Sorry my pictures are too big to put on here! TTFn, Oily .
