So it has had one more flight on the 1300mAh, which convinced me it would help if it was heavier. And so, today with a swirling wind going 5-15 and back again as soon as you blink, and from behind the pilots position, off to the field and a 2200mAh 3S was loaded. I'm uploading a video from today as I write. YouTube says it will be available at:- in about an hour (Please try and contain yourselves, and no peeking) Its raw video of the whole flight, warts and all, just stored for the record and only the truly dedicated will want to watch it all, but look out

Well, err................Nah!! You can't see it in the air, so IMO its not needed.
-
Well it might be more realistic because it wobbles its wings, but that tail and fixing (which looks disconnected in the air) is horrendous.

Want to try an electrical experiment? Don't try this at home kiddies...........................

Firstly, its possible to use transmitter telemetry display of signal strength indication (such as FRSky Taranis) to direction locate a model as 2.4GHz signal strength is very much line of "sight", been done quite a few times it seems. And its available NOW on all suitable models at no expense. Secondly, this is a well explored area for FPV pilots, even short range 250 race quad,s as they can easily clip a twig not visible in goggles in time and so can "disappear" off piste in the woods, something I would have included in the FPV club session I proposed. Most Multicopter flight contro

Just be aware of:- Article 166 1. A person shall not cause or permit any article or animal (whether or not attached to a parachute) to be dropped from a small aircraft so as to endanger persons or property. Note, depending on interpretation, it does not say you can't do it, just that you have to control release to ensure safety.

How to land if one of your wings has fallen off!
Bravedan replied to Pilot Ben's topic in General chitchat
Nearest I have come is when a Fox powered glider had a velcro strap fail and the battery fall out when inverted at the top of a loop, disconnecting at the bullets and taking the canopy off with it. The ESC must have had serious capacitors (there were two large cans under the heat shrink) as the FASST radio, now without a supply, continued long enough to complete the loop, level out and turn towards a safe landing direction with a couple of corrections before the surfaces finally froze and it landed heavily but without any damage other than a slightly loosened motor mount in the cropped area of -

I don't think Fred Hempel could have done it with a Cub................ Been around a while, that video, he's kept his wings on since I understand. -
or maybe her key was frozen in the fuel flap...............??

I LOVE one of the comments and I quote, "What does the title say…the letter are all broken and s**t" Another contender emerges......................And they walk this earth.........................

Errr, it's a she (damn that autocorrect, Eh? ) , and I can only assume the pump was frozen, and she was trying to free it.

Worth starting a specific thread I think as it is now released and demo ones are hitting the UK suppliers. https://www.facebook.com/T9hobbysport-120217737998160/?v=wall

Well, It was so good that not only am I using it, I have bought more receivers. It's ended up being my "Quad" radio, esp as the Rx I'm using has PPM output so only one lead from Rx to Flight Controller. I have bought 6 channel Rx's from UK source @ approx £7 each. A contact has just ordered two from China fir £4 each.

Well, sort of.................... EPP Eagle from HobbyKing. Maidened today. With hindsight I should have put a 2200mAh 3S in it to increase the weight, as that would have made the swirling breeze easier for it, and I am sure it would have flown more smoothly. As it was it flew with the much lighter 1300mAh used for static testing which would be good for thermal catching in the right conditions. It's taileron control. On the second flight a seagull paid it close attention, and the parakeets REALLY did not like it, alarm calling furiously.

Errrrr, Guys, you do realise the original question post was made (and answered, though the answer has long since been deleted) in 2006, not 2016!?

Brief, did he forget his specs? Good find, Alan....

A job which formerly might well have been a full sized helicopter, higher up. It was, from the less sensationalist press reports, a 10kg(ish) commercially run company machine being used by one of their operators for the TV company covering the event. I don't know what Italy's rules are either, but the multi was being operated over the course, Whether this is "over people" is a moot point, and if their rules are anything like ours then it would have been risk assessed as acceptable before flying. Not in any way challenging any of your comments, Rod, it's something that

Alan, your post is unfortunately potentially misleading, especially the title. It is not just "drones" (which by definition specifically have to be capable of autonomous controlled flight), but effectively ALL UNMANNED AIRCRAFT within what is considered the "normal" radio control model weight range that fall into the new American scheme's remit. And it is active in five days time!! Yes, the term UAV technically covers it, but not in a way many properly understand, and your post is public, so non-modellers can read it and possibly be confused. For hobby purpose rather than comm

5.5 is no longer a Beta and is released as 5.5g. There are also some new aircraft to download inside the Sim once it has loaded. (nothing very spectacular though) Allow extra time to do all this if not using it before a session!! One of the latest downloads is the Blade 230s Helicopter. I have this model and have also flown one not owned by me. I think very highly of the model, it flies very well, acts like a 600, and is 3D straight out the box. Sadly, the Sim version isn't very good as it stands, its too rigid, the controls are hard to harmonise turns with, and the throttl

Hi, Wanna tell you a storeee.................. (Max Bygraves, for the younger ones) Way back when Rob Carpenter of the greatly missed Giant Cod got overloaded, he engaged a Manager, Graham. Graham went with the business to Myhobbystores (spit) as Manager at Giant Shark. As Myhobbystores have harpooned the 'Shark, Graham has set up independently as :- http://rclife.co.uk/ He is trying to do what Rob C managed for quite a long while despite trade opposition, sell at minimum price. Obviously he has to build up the business from near nothing in a none too

Hi Karl, I don't fly at the Airport, but I am to be found around the 'ole quite often during the week. Enjoy the flying and maybe see you later. Dave
