Yes, I know, it was a wind up in case he visited....................

Are you referring to the flying or the fact that it has been re-winged and three turbo props fitted to make it another plane entirely from its original WW2 roots? The flying was a result of trying to avoid but hitting flotsome on what was supposed to be a touch and go.

Go on, add some variety! I particularly like the Australian Sports Field and will use this on some sessions. http://www.kissouraces.com/index.php

With the carp weather has come a fair bit more Indoor flying than Out, and the Blade 230s has not disappointed. I have changed the canopy for one that shows better in orientation...................... and that is it so far. HOWEVER, on a DX9, the "Panic" trigger is the "I" Button, also used as the bind button. This is in completely the wrong place for use in a hurry! If you need the Panic Button, the last thing you need is an over lengthy stretch from normal flying hand positions round other switches like Idle Up. Flying thumbs and Mode 2 I have to almost come o

The most useful current source I have found is a post on RCGroups Forum. This is in Aircraft - General, Simulators, User-Built Models for PhoenixRC Here:- http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2382571&highlight=User+Built+Models+for+PhoenixRC#post31220771 Post 1 has an Index to posts with downloads. I have not loaded and tested all (yet!), but the following I have and I suggest are worthwhile downloading for use:- Posts (NOT pages!): 15 18,47,55,105 (where there are multiple posts, work backwards due to updates) 60 76

OK, here we go, the first two sites, both tested by me under 5.5d. Watergate Bay, Cornwall, Sunset Peninsula Halfmoonbay http://www.szenerien.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=62&Itemid=63 These are both ZIP files that you will need to download and then extract with their folder name as in archive. The EXACT place to extract them to varies as per version of Windows, but basically you will need to place user-made sites in your Documents folder tree under:- Documents\PhoenixRC\Downloaded\Sites\Use

AND...........as Martin says, factor in that speed is not all you are aiming for, you need to meet the Club's noise level requirement..............some prop combinations on that engine will DEFINITELY fail you.

Simulators, On-Line, as per site instructions........................ This is a general discussion thread. Flying Diary is strictly for real world flying. I'm about to start pointing at extra planes and schemes and flying sites to load. I think it might be best to have a heading and thread for each one, as that means people can raise any issues specifically and not have to trawl other issues on other things through page after page (like RCGroups, effectively, I'm doing that task for you)!!. One thing now, it's certain that you will need to go to http://www.rcgroups.co

Regular CAMFC only Phoenix Simulator sessions. See post in "Simulators" main section.

I intend hosting Phoenix online sessions over winter. If you have not been active recently, listen up, Punk!! You should already be aware that to multi-play online we all need to be on the same version. Currently, the Launcher is at v1.2, and the main program at 5.0w. However, a change to 5.5 is imminent, and 5.5d is as I write available for beta download via the "advanced" menu in the 1.2 Launcher. I currently have a PC on each, 5.0w and 5.5d Beta. I have not had any significant issues with the Beta, and "d" seems to be operating well. Again,

That was FIVE YEARS ago Ben, he's off the drugs now................................

Over the years the "ownership" of Phoenix has changed. As it has, so has the response to things like a lost lead, damaged lead, etc. Copyright law notwithstanding, I very much doubt that anyone's legal department would be the slightest bit interested in a single person who owns a legal copy of the software on disk using any hardware simply to to run it on one PC, the tiniest of the small print or not. They have no reasonable system to replace (at even some cost) just a lead, so its THEM that are at "fault" really, law or no law. After all, Spektrum cannot stop Lemon and Orange

THIS is the one I have.............. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24613__Wireless_9_in1_Simulator_Adapter.html?strSearch=wireless%20simulator You can fit a spare receiver to it and go wireless, but it can also work wired, though unlike the one Martin lists (which I have not tried) you do have to get an adaptor to DIN to adapt the 3.5mm jack to whatever your training port needs.
-
No, you didn't, at least it didn't come like that !! What you had was a grey USB plug and lead (connected from the Computer USB port) which went to a black box and a black lead emerged from the other end which went to a 3.5mm Jack (connected to the Tx trainer port either directly or through an adaptor, in my case a jack socket to Futaba square plug). In your case the add on adaptor went from 3.5mm socket to 5 pin DIN, likely also black The HobbyKing unit I have works perfectly well.....HOWEVER, I have the wireless one they sell (or sold, I'll look)

Did you colour tape over reinforced tape, or colour tape direct to the foam? It it just about possible to shrink colour tape if applied direct to foam, but all the seams means its a nightmare to stop it shrinking where not wanted! If taped direct to the foam, its honestly quicker to re-tape it all. UV degradation will kill colour tape's adhesive anyway after a few months if stored in light.

Sorry James, but (a) not everyone CAN, and (b) some aircraft like multicopters must NOT turn the power off on loss of signal! There are more Tx/Rx around which do not allow it than you might think, and that includes some 2.4HGz like quite a few Futaba. Killing the motors on a multicopter on loss of signal is downright dangerous!! (You did say aircraft, ALL, and everyone MUST)

Many Tx makers could learn from the quad makers, where arming their controller is often locked out unless via holding full down right on the left stick for x seconds and is the only way to make the quad live. In their case as they never glide deadstick a couple of seconds of no throttle means an automatic re-arm before it will run again, maybe this bit isn't good for FW as is , but it could be adapted to include the absence of any flight surface operation or some such. The point is, it is self activating. Obviously model match or equiv helps if you move on and don't isol

I have suddenly gained one of these sets wrongly supplied as part of a bigger buy, was not ordered, but effectively I'd be arguing over £17 to return it and get the Rx I had ordered and I doubt they will pay postage back (it was though from a true UK source, NOT China). So I have played with it............ I'm quite shocked by it, as so far its easy to set up, has a decent menu system, OK display, 2.4GHz frequency hopping dual diversity, 6 channels, 20 model memories, four assignable switches, one being three way, and two pots.................AND telemetry from its neat w

Oh, and on the Cougar, there is very little clearance between the std length carbon band posts, attached bands, and the inner edge of the Ailerons.............check they cannot foul during flight!! AND....be VERY careful where are you going to take it and even more store it at home once used , as Cougars with an oiler on the front are not exactly clean devices!!! Wipe it clean, don't miss the underside of the tail, and Plug the Exhaust before it goes in the car!! It'll leech oil drops after use for days! It is actually a good idea to paint fuel proofer down every join in the film, as

Yes we know what you had done was only for photos, but while on the subject........... Yes, White bands sold for model use........lots of sizes.......use a size that holds firmly without crushing but cannot allow the wing to move. I have seen more than one "variable incidence" plane come close to disaster!! Also double up ALL bands. Put the first ones on parallel to Fus, then the second ones over that diagonally which helps to hold the whole lot on the posts. CHECK every use for perishing!! And keep all elastic bands in a small container with some talcum powder to keep them supp

James, Lots of info around, esp on RCG:- 1. 15 x 7 prop, Turnigy 50/50 NTM series motor and 80amp Plush ESC powered by Turnigy 5s 4000 pack, all from hobbyking. 2. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1985281 (just one thread)
