Of course it doesn't, its carp even to THINK about saying it!! "I have this piece of paper, Signed by Mr Hitler............."

I asked their support what on earth it did, as hunting around menus in case of a new feature was no sensible way to leave people, and this is the reply:- Hi Dave This update mainly concerns improving the online stability of Phoenix, and the "V" update does appear to have resolved these issues. Best Regards Phoenix Support So, now you know.............just in time for those winter group sessions??

As distinct from the Blade 180 QX (a Multicopter)................... OOOOHH, there's going to be some disappointed people at Christmas getting the wrong one (I'd like a Blade 180 please) !! This is the Blade 130x replacement. A phone call from TJD, and one has been added to the ever more bulging hangar (good job its small!!) Its a little bigger (and only a little bigger!), has the new trend in servo placement (and they are "real" servos), and a round boom with shaft drive. The design looks basically good, but there's an extra pair of gears on the tail drive which any engineer will

Relayed message..................... You SHOULD update to 2.0.13 ASAP. A very important bug has been squashed and all reported issues have been resolved with this version. The lead developer, Bertrand Songis, stated that this is the most stable version of OpenTX they have ever created. http://www.open-tx.org/2014/11/20/opentx-2.0.13/

Updating, its been flown three times now, once indoors. It does Autorotate successfully, though it was a bit scary going into hold for the first time with something that light and potentially so low on inertia! The properly aligned super accurately cut delrin main gear is a lot smoother than the std plastic moulded (and warped) product, but the high kV motor makes it noisy indoors anyway as the head speed is a significant step up on the std motors capability. The good news is that this gives instantaneous reaction to cyclic stick pressure, and fast is good! And the bad news to that is

I use NIMH for most Rx packs and all Tx packs, I thoroughly dislike LiPo in a Tx. However, the main use is in the 1/12th scale Mardave RC cars raced at the school club which use the Sub "C" 4 cell packs. Currently I maintain 26 cars, plus at least two spare batteries per car, plus more for juniors who have their own cars. (with two more being built now for the club and three member cars just being started) Most of my own engine powered Helis have 4 cell sub "C" pack, too, because of the high current drain needed for top spec powerful digitals, that's another eight! Then there are

Well, We have gone from "S" to "V" in a day or so, as "T" and "U" gave server trouble (apparantly). Unfortunately there is NO info on what this does for you (or to you!!), presumably it might have when it was T and U but these now don't exist nor is any text they might have put up for them ..........do these IT people EVER proof read their info???

Instants or Std? Have more than 150 std Sub C 4 cell packs, some over seven years old..................been great

Well, having read both sections, twice, I can only say that I'm forced to disagree with some fundamental parts of it, especially the recommended order to choose the components. Do I know better? Dunno, maybe not, but with eight years experience of modern EP, and currently over 150 EP models successfully built and flown, from ultra light indoor to brutal hotliner and ultra fast Delta, and only very rarely the need to revisit a set up after first choice, I must surely be doing something right? One area I flinched over and started shouting at the screen ( ) was the recommended sequence

In the main yes, as far as I can tell 5 now operates as well as 4 and that is apart from the changes that were made to get ongoing progress/development potential beyond where 4 could go. There are a very few people left having issues with 5 but the numbers seem to be only what 4 suffered and any PC programme will not run well with ALL combinations of controller, hardware and software, too many variables.

In case you have not loaded Phoenix today or recently, this new "S" version states major improvements to online stability (not that I had many issues, but some did). Winters coming, break out that Sim to have some Online fun.................

So, doing things one at a time, I have replaced the main shaft (which was a std carbon unit which was a little tired and flexible axially) with a MicroHeli unit with autorotation hub and hardened metal shaft. As mine came (today) the metal is red matching the other fitted metal parts and the gear orange which matches the blades!! I thought that autorotation spin on would be a joke with such a light system, but it seems to be free enough and spins on enough to probably work. Too windy in the back garden to try and no hall access as its half term.

Yes, Graupner did the "Funcopter", and allegedly it was a pretty dire thing, too..............even when "updated", i.e. fixed as much as possible was how it was described to me when I had the misfortune to come into contact with one and was asked to fly it as the owner could not).

we had a big enough hall available.................

In all its sparkling metal and carbon bling. Compared to std (apart from blades and motor) 130x on right The two wearing the custom paint fibreglass canopies included, std thin vac form plastic in front With a 500 class............! As you can see, the modded one has full carbon strip framing, metal bearing blocks, swashplate, head and tail, it has a 10,000kV motor, carbon tube tail control rod and improved support. As said, the only std features are the servos, control board, and drive gear. Oh, and the undercarriage, though all the mod parts for that are I

Waiting for someone with onboard video to follow me through a few circuits and the occasional loop, max height about 20 feet though...............

So, this 130x turned up on EBay, except there was virtually nothing left from a standard 130x except servos and main board from the original. It must have used a fair slice of the Chinese stocks of carbon and aluminium for all its many upgrades despite its small size! It was being offered with a Dx6i DSM "X" Transmitter (with a broken menu roller), a large metal case, some good quality tools, quite a lot of spares, two expensive Fusano custom paint canopies with matching coloured sets of blades, a good quality mains/12v charger with a large selection of multi charge leads, five batteries

Or failing that, some skill.......................

Lots of places, Giant Shark, Robotbirds (SPIT ), T9 Hobbysports. The latter is the "official" FrSky UK stockist (and a nice guy who cares). http://www.t9hobbysport.com/ Be aware, you have said freesky, I guess you don't mean it, as there is a freesky as well as FrSky (as in the Taranis, etc and this thread). There is also a FlySky!!!

At the field yesterday there was talk on Horus and what it could possibly do that was useful above the Taranis X9D. Remember the model number is NOT the max channel count!! Well, briefly and incompletely:- Horus X12D 1. Goodbye resistive stick pots, gimbals will have magnetic angle sensors 2. Bluetooth 3. WiFi (no more cable connect to update, having to sort out hardware interfacing, etc) 4. Voice Recognition (Shout back if the lady is silly, OOOH the fun we could have telling our mates Tx to trim full right or invert throttle!!!) 5. GPS (probably be able to pass CURRENT p

Shortly to be prosecuted by the CAA for doing so.................

Great! The Vertical Stab fixing is one of its worst features. After trying epoxy, thin hot glue, and then CA. I have settled on using the same technique as my Alula Mk1, to allow it to rotate under resistance if hit. To do this I rebuilt (as it was worn) the rectangular "pin" which goes into the boom slot, and located two small cable ties through the reinforced vert stab round the boom front and rear. It will rotate but needs force beyond flying forces. So, when are you taking up slope soaring then? Get a FlyingWings Slipstream..fast, tough and cheap!! (Do not get a Zagi or Si o
