  1. Here's another aircraft they operate, check the livery................Malta registered company, operating from France............
  2. CLUE...............it was the day of a major international cycle race which ended on the Mall. And note the altitude, it was WAY over the approach height to either LHR or LCY, so don't say filming.................
  3. OK, here's one for you, what was this plane doing over London?
  4. Hey even my 87 year old Mother-in-Law loves to check planes flying over Sleaford.......................
  5. Actually, have recently come close to setting up and old desktop as a locate and send input to flightradar, when you get all the bells and whistles free. (The desktop would be part of a remote building security system so would be on 24/7 anyway)
  6. No I don't, as I have been using them for years now.............................
  7. https://www.flightradar24.com/51.47,-2.38/8 http://www.radarvirtuel.com/ And for ships................. http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-2/centery:51/zoom:8
  8. Been around quite a while now, originally called a ballistic parachute. I understand its std eqpt on Cirrus Light Aircraft. Be one hell of a canopy for a A380 though....................... http://www.airspacemag.com/flight-today/how-things-work-whole-airplane-parachute-67493177/?no-ist http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/hawaii/11369919/Watch-Plane-deploys-parachute-for-emergency-landing-in-Hawaii-ocean.html
  9. I have used Modelfixings for many years now, always good fast service, great range of product, good quality. Running the large club I do means I get through lots! They are one of the few sources of small .1mm step allen keys, useful to get a small stretched headed one out where the original is made of Cheesium or worse, Align-ium.
  10. Errr, at face value the pics are nice, but................... its actually called "20 incredible vintage planes you can still fly in", THAT is the actual title - and its another fine example of modern journalism, lazy, inaccurate, cobbled up from a few archive pics bearing no real relevance to the title or help to the person that WOULD like to fly in one. No1 - you def won't fly in it, and anyway NOBODY flies in it, the pilot flies ON it! No2 - Its a Replica - its not therefore vintage, its new - if there IS a real one left flying in public service, tell me where you can fly in i
  11. AND.........outdoors........................
  12. OK, so what follows is a quick n dirty test flight video. It's actually recorded by taking AV out from a Flysight Black Pearl screen, and feeding it into a Windows laptop via a clone "EasyCap" device. My headset gives a bit better picture, BTW!
  13. The Inductrix is a great little tool, not the least because its ducted fan means it can bump into all sorts of things with impunity. Its "problem" is that standard it cannot successfully carry FPV gear, even the tiny micro combos. This is resolved by fitting upgraded motors (not from Blade). They are a plug in part. This results in an increased current draw that the PCB ESCs can handle but the std battery cannot, so a larger battery is essential. I ran the motors in very carefully, probably more carefully than most would. Time alone will tell how long they last
  14. Richard, The Club Rules attachment in the Members area posted by Rod "Hotrod" does not now download or display correctly in either Windows 7 or Windows 10. It only displays "CROYDON AIRPORT MODEL FLYINDeLUB1" and then several error messages result An older copy of the same file I downloaded in June does display correctly.
  15. The only way that could have ended better would have been if it had taken the infantile irresponsible brain dead originators of that piece off this world for good. Money, more, sense, than..............rearrange.
  16. Already have sent a PM...................
  17. Not a lot of help there either, its a world!
  18. Hi Richard, What I get is a plain white page with fairly large table in black print:- Home Contact the club Events Calender Learning to Fly Meet CAMFC Membership RC News If I scroll down this disappears, still plain white. If I scroll back up, the text reappears, but now smaller. Over on the right of the visible area is a large "be" and under that a smaller "ry to use a", obviously masked but cannot be made more visible. Can't see anywhere that will tell me which browser, looked all over!! I'll ask Fred Flintstone, I borrowed the phone fro
  19. Ben might have inadvertently induced confusion, I have NO problems with the Forum if I address to it directly, but as per first post on this if I go to the main Website front page, navigation onwards to any path is very very sluggish or not at all, which I discovered by trying to get to the Forum that way. I get the menu item highlighted immediately when clicked, "activate" sound, but nothing results. Samsung, Android, it has whatever the default browser is!! (The old forum was OK direct AND via the Website portal), It does not affect me now I know and have set to go direct, but this just
  20. But do you access it directly or via the website front page?
  21. Hi Richard, Tried my phone today for the first time (Android, Samsung) as prep for reporting slope situation from site. It found the club home page list quickly (with no graphics to worry about which is good). However, when trying to get to the Forum from the menu, I found that all menu options started a "build bar" but then stalled with no further action. Going direct to http://www.camfc.co.uk/social worked, up came the forum OK. Dave
  22. Look up the origin of "drone" with regards aircraft..............................
  23. Look, its a simple job to put RC gear onto a full size F16 or Airbus 380 if all you crave is size and you have the money, its not in itself clever and it does not make you a better pilot or give a better display. Over sized RC models don't fit the flying fields we have access to, just like oversized SUV/4x4 don't fit our roads. IMO the CAA should ban all RC over (say) 20kg. DISCUSS.................
