I totally agree, but didn't want to lead............

Chargers are a bit like cars, nobody usually admits to buying a bad one! However, I thought I'd start a thread based on my experiences based on eight years intensive use. Remember, apart from my own frequent use, the School Club I run demands that I spend a considerable amount of time every week using them. So, do I list by battery type, chip type, or manufacturer? Either has its drawbacks, so I'll go with make, though even that has traps like where some are imported and "badged", to look different but not be! Firstly, some reasoning behind what I have. Some of them are with me

Air display at Biggin Hill Aerdrome 2014
Bravedan replied to Peter Royall's topic in General chitchat
To be clear, we are talking about the "Festival of Flight" event on Saturday the 14th June..............? http://www.biggin-hill-today.co.uk/news.cfm?id=5394 http://www.bhfof.com/ I'm not at all surprised its detail is unclear, having been trying to get two major businesses to indicate what they want from my Trust for their centeneries for the past three months plus. They don't even know WHEN in the year they will do it!! Couple of points:- 1. This is BEFORE the Canadian Lanc is due to cross over to the UK, so does not feature as a possible sighting date for the two Lancs f -
Very good question......... ALL the models I have had (this is the third replacement!) exhibited this violent gyro induced instability when at transition to lift off........except when (for some unknown reason) they would suddenly and randomly sound "rough", and behave totally stably through lift off. At all times the in air performance was unaffected and satisfactory. Now its rough ALL the time, but for how long?

If you have been anywhere near it you'll know its now up to "n". This finally re-adds Scale Wizard. The download also updates "Builder" to 1.0i though I got so I could not be bothered to try to use it with the main prog lacking so badly.................maybe when my computer room is back in use.......(end this next week possibly, YAY!!!)

Long time since I have posted re this Heli. Facts are, its still going, is unbroken apart from the wiper blades that threw off and were lost on day one, and the atrocious "throwover" tendency has reduced with time flown. It is flown at least once per week, indoor and outdoor. No, its not me thats improved, its the Heli!! Now? Well it sounds like a real bag of nails beign rattled when spooling up, but the gyros are not toppling it anything like as violently and sometimes for several flights it behaves in ground handling exactly as it should. The bad news (coming?) is that the tail

I thought I'd wait for the closet Taranis users to comment............... Every week I use:- Futaba, Hubsan, JP (Planet and other imports with their name), Spektrum, ACCOMS, WFly, JR, the list goes on and on. My 10CG Futaba Tx so far has done everything I have wanted it to, and FASST has been 100% bullet proof, as you should expect from a system that got itself replaced because it was too good.......so why did I buy a Taranis? I'm not too bothered by telemetry and speech, so its not that. Well, maybe as an ex-hacker (long time ago now!!) and freeware content creator, the ide

And its still going...................

Well, after lots and lots of testing and reporting, they are up to version "m" and its finally getting there. i'd say its now time to upgrade if you haven't yet but if you do find anything wrong beyond simple flight tuning, please let them know.

So, nearly a year on, where is this particular project currently? They could be missing the boat, as I have a working Transmitter from another supply source that has open source software that all appears to work, and that a lot of interest and growing hoards of users worldwide is driving development. The only bit I have not got working so far is the only bit I'm forced to get elsewhere (from Ripmax), the JR style module to enable the new Tx to not only work with its own Rx's via its built in RF section, but also via the plug in module with FASST Rx's, a "nice to have" but by no means es

"E" released, jumping over "D". Took 2 mins to find several unaddressed errors. Still advise sticking with 4 if not already changed.

TEE HEE............ That is one of the few things it is NOT doing, it is crashing, but not taking the PC (on Win7) with it.
-
No update yet............. For the record............I won't list detail here, but I have just put yet another list of bugs I have found inside 5.0c back to Support, seven more in this one mail, and that is the sixth EMail from me to them for 5.0c alone.
-
Its a drop off that after me flagging it, they say will be cured in an update sometime today.

And now we get to the water planes, Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear!! Beaver Floatplane, Lakeside Behaves like ice, not water, virtually NO resistance, skids on and on and on, can even be turned sideways and even the side of the floats does not induce any drag!! Default start position on this scenery spins the plane away from the bank!!

Well they are now up to v5.0c, and my advice still stands, as its still far too bug ridden to be acceptable if you only have a single system. I'm OK since I have side by side PC's one on 4.0q, one on 5.0c. A few tiny examples of current issues:- Crashing in Multiplay Spitfire has Heli setup on top of Plane, gear also works "idle up" so gear down means full throttle, flap up means throttle hold!!! Fokker DR-1 has FAR too much power, takes off in mm's and prop hangs and knife edges A LOT of the plane physics are shot to hell, loss of precession during take off, etc, etc, etc.
-
Hope you didn't have any user schemes cos you have just lost them.
-
DO NOT, REPEAT DO NOT LOAD THIS UPDATE. It has SO many faults I cannot even begin to list them here, it is even crashing on numerous systems which are recent high performance computers and ran v4 perfectly.
-
Well, its issued..................but..................don't bother!!!! People everywhere as of time this written are getting thrown off part way through...............another IT department triumph then, as their server should only accept the download numbers it can adequately deal with, and flag "try later" to those it cannot. Far too many people are getting so far and THEN being thrown out.

The last evening and night have been quite "interesting" for those with this software, with London Heathrow landings suffering lots and lots of missed approaches, and full stacks everywhere. Still going on now. Windspeeds are not THAT high so assume its the near nothing to 50 plus snap gusts that's doing them in!!! Been some declared emergencies, too, presumed lack of fuel. They are wearing out the sky on all the stacks. There have been diverts to Leeds (Bradford) etc, overnight and one flight missed, and then went to stack back over Belgium!! PS, anyone fancy a slope session at

And does not finish first.....................

Not really any need to stay stuck though, for example, nobody is currently going for a v3.0 at low cost on EBay:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PHOENIX-Professional-RC-Flight-Simulator-3-0-Multiplayer-/321313689757?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item4acfc9d09d And the Phoenix website provides free downloadable updates from 3.0 all the way up to the latest issue......v4.0q...........and will from that to v5 when it is released imminently.

Yes, you do...............
