Its not just a help, its essential, but the "brush" you speak of is very very difficult to use when you need a smooth curved slope like from the runway end to the road, its a simple basically round area and while size adjustable, its near impossible to get to work accurately. Then as you say placing objects like skylines and so on becomes a nightmare as distance is very difficult to gauge. I'm in communication with a couple of guys who do manage to get a decent result, but I have not asked for their help with getting the 3D modelling right as the base photos are just not good enough to wa

Shane, Sorry to hear the work news. Way back I was a Beta Tester for Phoenix. I have also done a lot of work on non-RC Sims, particularly with 3D modelling. As it stands currently I have about 150 flying sites, many done by me from CC Panos out there. There are a number of problems with the base CAMFC graphics set, as Arun says, the base height is too low, the lighting poor, and the lack of a fully optic head has created some distortions to the scene which affects relative distances, the calculated plane distance travelled not matching the visual. It was a brave attempt by Ar

Had nothing against H9 products, but recently they went through a less stable quality patch when switching some production from China to Vietnam. Might be out of that now, but I would not know!! I had a Twist 40 with numerous faults, none flight stopping, but including loose parts rattling around inside the wing, poor fittings which had to be swapped to better, over soft/thin skinning balsa being used, esp in the wing fixing zone, which for a 3D acrobat which is GOING to be stressed a lot, so is pretty disappointing. I "audited" HH's support on it sending a support report for their attent

Cut yourself a starter motor, silly boy............... Not something Irvines are usually accused of!

Probably cost more than an Irvine...................

Very nice, love the hold the nose wheel off for ages landings, though all that cockpit work only adds weight, IMO totally wasted effort. From the flying shots of the wing, it either had Aileron slop/flutter or it had gyros fitted, I suspect the latter, anyone know?

There was one I came across recently while looking for an easier path than explaining in full myself from scratch how I did it to someone where a guy had titled the video that he would be showing how to overcome a problem with a particular Blade Heli model which I knew was done by accessing a setup process which is undocumented in the manual. Some time into the video, after telling how you do this and then that, he reaches a point where it doesn't do what he expected. He then tries several times, with obviously increasing panic, but it doesn't work as he is saying. ( Well, it wouldn't,

To be honest Shane, there is no shortage of brainless "ijjits" on You Tube only too willing to show they are in the hunt to be a Darwin Award Winner if they live that long. I have found it's best not to look.

I'm a bit puzzled here guys, as the big H9 33% Pawnee was added long enough ago that I have done a couple of different schemes:- Don't you get new models via auto update on their issue??? The usual short cutting by the artist gives some issues for the Trainspotters amongst us, for example they only loaded one Nav light, so both sides are red!!!

Part way through the session a pilot appeared with the low wing trainer and the default title of "New Pilot". Didn't fly and left after a couple of mins. If it was you, was there a problem? You are quite welcome to join in!!!

This depends on whether you want it (him?) to be totally convincing close up on the ground or when seen in the air. You have to be pretty good to make a figure look realistic close up, and include details that are not only invisible from flight distance but also merge to sully the distant viewing appearance somewhat. A more "cartoon" approach usually IMO looks better at plane viewing distances, especially when the plane isn't "true scale" either! Watch an artist do a figure and unless they are Picasso they don't use lots of colours in the raw, but they do choose their limited palette

Sorry, I missed it, too.............I was on the Sim most of the evening, too, just been adding another 20 or so flying sites and about the same number of plane livery schemes.. I now have over 180 flying sites NOT including the official ones supplied by Phoenix. In the warm and no probs if slowed reflexes and blurred vision causing crashing in Sim is about all I can do at the mo. Off Topic, it annoys just how many of the official sites have carp lighting so the plane is mostly in shadowed outline, why people bother to take all the trouble to make panos that are extremely poorly

Never ever primed my OS 70, but then I wouldn't pussy about flicking it either...............

OK, so its been around for quite a while now, so where are we with it? On the face of it, its been a very popular model. However, with few Heil flyers in the club the only people I know with one are Sam (yellowalert), Bill Turvill, and myself. Sam bought a batch one import. At the time it was just emerging that the model was suffering from what can only be said with hindsight to be diabolically bad Quality Control. The model was somewhat revolutionary as it had a shaft tail drive with "proper" pitch control of the tail rotor, pretty much a first in anything affordable and that small.

Rightly or wrongly I have always considered that the manufacturer knows best with regard their own product. There are quite differing types of engine construction/setup even just in ringless ABC type. Their own advice should be best, surely? Differing generic or information intended for a differing engine/setup, even just in terms of bore taper, will quite likely affect the running in process, possibly adversely. Maybe its just an engineer thing.................. No, I'm definitely not anal about looking after an engine after run in, never used "after run oil" in my life, bu
