As a 2 stroke engine is very slowly richened with it running, it will reach a point where there is so much fuel slopping around it that it cannot fire every time it should as there is not enough air in the ratio to do so, and the exhaust note will change down pitch (and of course lose power if power was being asked for). THAT is the so called four stroking. The transition is an uneven beat as the engine hunts between clean 2 stroke running and not. Here is a good sound video of a motorbike :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wzph3hL6EE Still applies, just because of the bigger cc a

I will start a session called CAMFC, password "gate" in lower case.................

The better car engines nowadays have huge amounts of taper on the bore so have very particular requirements, usually you have to heat them up to turn them over at all, even with the plug out !! In any event over rich for too long means too cool to bed, as bad as over hot, usually its short bursts of high throttle at a just two stroke/4 stroke break point You know what I'm going to say............ SC Engine Manual Page 4 "Running in 2 Strokes". I suggest you follow it and don't short cut, OK?

SIGH ..................TRF6 Manual, 2.2 Setting Failsafe, 2.2.2 "supports failsafe function for all channels" WAEFRTFM.................. Fancy an online session then tonight??

Hi Shane, As Rod says. No pics needed, you say the aerials are clear, they are!! That's a perfectly good combo of parts, one I have used on models for years now, however, the FRSky FASST Receiver needs the failsafe setting on the RECEIVER, and NOT on the TX. In the Tx menu, go to F/S, use the RH nudge switch +/- and ensure the little arrow is up facing by a small NORM legend. (No percentage showing) This is needed not only as a 6EX Tx has a limited throttle failsafe but also as the Tx failsafe will upset the Rx and cause servo issues if active, so turn it off. Rod or wh

Hi Shane, You probably won't see me much, unless that is you are going to be flying weekdays, depends how unlucky you are! Good choice on Radio, too, the Futaba 6EX is a brutally reliable piece of kit, and I should know, as I currently handle seven of them, only two being 2.4GHz!! I won't say how many receivers and servos cos I can't count THAT far!! Was it bought new as a set? (It'll help us to know the complete spec, numbers on each part, which receiver, etc, BTW, as we can give you faster help then). Do not wrap the Receiver in foam, etc, best to velcro it to a side sheet,

£29.90.....which is why I listed them above in the links, they adjust their pricing to their stock all the time. It's a good product, and a steal for that little money, as long as you calibrate it on arrival!

Another excellent Quad. If you want to fly this aggressively indoors or at all outdoors though, you'll find that the body acts like an unwanted drag parachute in flips and gusts. Many people are flying them sans body but this makes the electronics vulnerable..............so............ I found a rattle can top which fitted perfectly as a push fit round the ring of the central frame, cut this down to minimum height to clear the electronics, with cutouts for arms, battery and aerial. I also revised the lamp wiring on two arms to avoid contact at all with the std or can case, and pro

If the X4 has a bad side, the limiting USB Charge lead is it. I bought a £1 shop mobile phone emergency power 4xAAA battery box and USB socket set for "field" away from computer charging which does work OK, but for best performance needs 1.5v alkaline cells rather than 1.2v rechargables to give enough voltage to work at the best rate possible. Have also just obtained in the post today (good service overnight 1st class) a lead set (1x plug and 1 x socket) from www.rcpitstop.co.uk where they are sold for Losi micro cars as Part number LOSB0860 Connector Set Micro-T/B/DT @ £ 1.62, I b

On the face of it, you might think that's a silly question, after all, all you have to do is type "Hubsan X4" into Google. However, it's NOT!!! Firstly, the Hubsan X4 is currently being imported into the UK bay at least three differing "middle men", the main one actually being CML, which brings confusion (and variety) to both pricing and what is available in backup. Secondly, there is the Traxxas QR-1, which is the same base product from the same manufacturer but with differences in the overall package, being sold with a dual charger (though still USB), two batteries, and differ

FAR too tidy.........Nowhere NEAR enough airframes...........

Lancaster Models have stock of the currently rare "crash kit" which includes four sets of blades, etc, etc.

I have had five people come back to me today from posts to other Forums to say that they did the second calibration method, it worked perfectly, and the improvement they gained ranged from "much much better" to " a complete transformation". Additionally, the calibration can be used to ensure the Quad hovers on the spot in trim with NO electronic trim offsets which stabilises it even more. Centre the trims before doing it on a flat levelled surface. Fly it and see which way it drifts (if at all).....then prop it up with paper or card depending on how bad it drifts and redo it. Trial an

Well, my X4 arrived on Friday and to say I was disappointed with it was an understatement. Despite being well used to Quads I found it difficult to control even for simple flying around at slow speed, and impossible to turn or pirouette without it drifting out backwards on stopping, needing full forward stick and an agonising wait to get forward motion back (if you had the space! ). It would fly, but really poor control compared to the truly excellent Twister Quad, even when rates wound up (setting rates/sensitivity is in the rather poor Chinglish manual). At this time I only had the one

Can't see from my hermetically sealed 200 metre deep bunker, be a good boy and tell me........................

Thanks for link, had missed that.......... There is of course an enormous difference between a taxi-queen and a fully flyable machine, and I'm not fully convinced by all I read, it does not stack up for me currently. I REALLY hope I'm wrong though.

Some very nicely lit scenery here :- http://phoenix-sim-szenerien.de.tl/Szene-Downloads.htm You might have the first few, or earlier versions of them, but the later ones were new to me. (So many scenery panoramas are shot when the light is against the model or very dull poor contrast, these are all good)
-
Oily, you probably are, they can only list the ones that went pop or were found! Logic suggests many many more went unnoticed, especially on the outer fringes of the capital. You just have to hope that your Carbon friendly 2.4GHz gear is also ancient detonator friendly.............

Sorry Arun, I was JUST getting ready to come on when all hell broke loose here with an EMail that needed several urgent phone calls and a penned lengthy reply pasting sender to the wall..................now have about another hours work to offset the effect of his error...................SIGH.................... I did get to play with myself briefly this afternoon ..........I was a bit surprised when a local session suddenly had visitors, I had assumed (wrongly) that a local network session would not be open to the Internet, so I closed it quickly with passwording

I now have Phoenix working on two PC's at once via the network so I can play with myself.........(OOOERRR MISSIS!) Be great when the grandkids visit............ I bought the HK wired/wireless unit, have not tried wireless yet, but works OK on wired.

Don't just update the program too, as then go back again under the menu update and download the latest scenery and models. You sometimes do not get ALL the updates in one go, so check! Also:- https://sites.google.com/site/phoenixrcscenes/ Get "St.Peter-Ording-Strand" and the "Australian Sportsfield" AT MINIMUM. Also get all you can from here:- http://www.szenerien.de/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=62&Itemid=63 And more here:- http://rcsim.de/
